Dreamshaper!Felix drops on Beacon Hills

In a moment Felix was simply enjoying flying through the many portals of the Shattered Skies. Then a flash of bright light and then he isn't in the Shattered Skies anymore.

Instead he is above a town, no portal in view. He checks his cellphone and... no signal, this is likely a kind of pocket dimension.

Feeling confused and lost, Felix flies down, searching for people or a place where he can use a phone.

"I used the word racist because I assumed that if I had used thaumotophobe, you would look at me confused. Regardless, then I ask what being 'casual about violence' means?"

Not to mention what sources do you have to back your claims, Scott, because this entire thing is smelling of hearsay, anecdotal evidence and superstition stewed on prejudice. But Felix doubts anyone went as far as compare a single werewolf to a single human under controlled circumstances, much less a randomly select group of each. Urgh, he landed on a Urban Fantasy novel without behavioral scientists.

"We're more aggressive, we lose control around the full moon, we have claws and teeth and when we don't focus, we shift forms, and we're always more dangerous when we shift. You have to take this seriously, this isn't some story, this is real life."

Felix sighs, he is less angry, but visibly not calmer, definitely tireder. He thinks for a minute.

"I know very well what real life is about, you think everything is sunshine and rainbows to magical people back in my universe? A lot of your situation sounds right out of the type of bad book that I like to read, except that is in fact real life and what I've know from real life is that people will be terrible prejudiced. They don't want to be bad. They don't know any better. I know.

And all that adds up to me thinking the situation is not acceptable as you present it. If Allison was in reasonable danger because she was dating you, then you failed to make it clear that you made a mistake in dating her. But even if it was a mistake you just presented me the reasons why I think the entire system is a mess:

There is a family of hunters that, finds death preferable to lycanthropy. Allison's parents decided that all the hurt it would cause her daughter, her family, all the pain, all the lost moments they would never have, they decide that was better than keeping Allison's mom secured somewhere. My uncled killed himself and-"

He stops and takes a deep breath and closes his eyes.

"I am not done. But could you give me a minute to regain composure?"

"Go ahead."

Thank you, Felix covers his eyes and reorganizes his thoughts. It doesn't take a minute.

"Okay, uh. Please ignore what I was going to say about my uncle, I've never met him and... Ignore it. Anyway, continuing. You also said that your ex's grandfather manipulated said ex to seek revenge against Derek. I was shocked but not actually surprised that such situation happened. It is the kind of thing that red flagged the system to me. People get personal even without family death being involved. They get mean even without declaring the other side a different non-human or inferior. And people fail at properly analyzing the world, because fighting beyond your prejudices, superstitions and your family values is actually pretty hard. So, when you present the situation it sounds immensely more likely than not that hunters will behave like racists that did things like - you don't have openly known magic so - lynch black people because they are considered sub-human and more dangerous. Because it is human behavior and it happens regardless if the target is a innocent minority or an actually dangerous murderer..."

Then he pushes his plate away and rests his head on the table.

"I am sorry if it bothers you calling your ex's family racist, specially because the entire thing must have been difficult on all of you."

"Look, I'm sorry. I just don't think I can say they're wrong to worry about werewolves. They should check, before they kill people, if they're right, but werewolves are dangerous when we're alone. We need to have packs and anchors, or we're dangerous."

"Anchors? Also, what you have to say about your relationship with Allison? Or her mother's suicide?"

"Anchors are thoughts that keep us from transforming and losing control. Mine was Allison. It's not normal, and maybe it's not good, to have a person be your anchor. Now, it's not Allison. How our relationship worked isn't your business, not really. Maybe it worked or it didn't, but she was never unsafe around me. Other people were."

"Maybe Mrs. Argent should have thought she had better options. If I could convince hunters that living a werewolf was better than dying, I would. But just because she should have had other options doesn't mean she made the wrong choice."

Felix is still resting his head on the table. Not looking up. He will be quiet for awhile.

Scott zones out and stares at the table.

He wonders idly if it looks any different from tables that aren't from dreamshaping. Does it look like it came from a dream- details missing here and there?

Nope, it looks as solid and real as any table he has ever seen. It is some kind of stone that combines dark marble with something that looks remarkable like gold and opals.

In fact, it might actually be a weird marble-gold-opal combination. It isn't really out of the place, the rest of the kitchen can be easily described as "tacky opulence", the ceiling above is a elaborate mosaic of what looks like a pair of Skymages in foreign-looking garments.

Pretty.

He continues staring at the table, hoping it will solve his problems.

The table fails to provide problem-solving solutions, but remains pretty.

"Sorry," Felix says suddenly, "I was insensitive."

"You want to help. I understand, there are a lot of problems here and most of them don't have a good reason to exist, but they still do. You can't just tell people to make sense, that's not how people work. Maybe it would be easier, maybe it would be better- but things are complicated, and you have to talk to people involved, not just me. I can't explain everyone and what they were thinking."

"It's not that I expect people to make sense, and I am sorry for putting the weight on you," he sighs, "there is so many hurting and pain going around in a way that keeps reminding me of some disturbing pictures of hate crimes against mageborn and this universe is going to be my new home for who knows how many centuries and... urgh, sorry."

"There are problems, and we just do our best to fix them. Worrying like this isn't how to think of solutions. If you want, we can try to make a plan of attack, something to handle the things you're concerned about."

"I am not worried because it's useful, I am worried because that is my emotional reaction to the situation, and I probably should hear more, from different people before settling on any sort of plan."

"Of course, that sounds fair. Who do you think you need to talk to, anyone specific?"

"Chris Argent, since he is a hunter and Derek, since he is a born werewolf, both should know more about..." Felix makes a vague gesture, "the cultures? The dynamics of either side and how to proceed. I wouldn't mind meeting the your other werewolf friends as well. The more perspectives I have on this the better."

"Okay. I'll introduce you to everyone. Ready to go?"

"Just let me put these in the dishwasher and get a trenchcoat."

"I don't think I have a trenchcoat lying around. Can you make one, or should I?"

"Yes, I have one, just hold one." It takes a couple of minutes but Felix returns wearing a trenchcoat.

His wings lump under it, and it is very conspicuous and attention grabbing, but not intrinsically worse than having his wings exposed.

"Ready. I look ridiculous, but I am ready."

"Okay. Let's go."

They leave his dimension. Scott sighs.

"I'll have everyone ready in an hour. Where do you want to do this?"
