Halliwell Manor has been empty for several years. The layer of dust that has accumulated on the furniture is unpleasantly thick. There are cobwebs in every corner, waiting to spring themselves on an unsuspecting visitor. The rooms smell musty, like a waterlogged library. Though the garden shows signs of maintenance, the interior is oppressively lifeless. Without people to fill it, the house has become a shadow of its former self. Underneath all of that, the place is the same as the sisters remember. Halliwell Manor looks like home.
"Well, I guess that is a yes from all of us. And Felicia at least demonstrated her power. Do you think you can do it again?"
"I'm not sure? The fact it manifested under a situation less stressful than magical combat is promising?"
"It's better than nothing. If there's anything you want done today, we should do that before we go."
"Sure. Let's take a look."
To the attic with them. They find a recipe for an all-purpose vanquishing potion, which supposedly should work on most low-level demons.
Alright, they go about brewing that. Assuming it does not require the souls of forsaken children or anything.
Nope, but it does seem to require ingredients they don’t have.
”Never mind. Me and Felicia will have to protect you guys if we have any problems.”
They look at each other and then Fernanda speaks. "I think that is as ready we can get without literally waiting for another day."
Theo takes Felicia's hand, and holds the other out to Fernanda.
"All of you need to be touching me."
A moment passes.
"Damn it. It's not working. I'm gonna need a minute to check if blinking is the only thing I've lost."
He extricates himself from the siblings and starts pacing.
"No, I just need to run through the list."
Theo raises a hand, causing a bolt of lightning to travel through the room, stopping short of doing any damage. After that success, he transforms into a wolf instantly, and transforms back.
"I'm not going to check the venom here, but that looks like everything except blinking."
At their blank looks, he adds, "Blinking is what warlocks call our teleportation. We'll need to figure out another way to get there."
"Hell. One of them, anyway. I don't know anything about the geography of the place, if I'm honest."
The Book of Shadows does not obediently flip to a helpful page. They'll need to just turn pages like regular users of books.
