Halliwell Manor has been empty for several years. The layer of dust that has accumulated on the furniture is unpleasantly thick. There are cobwebs in every corner, waiting to spring themselves on an unsuspecting visitor. The rooms smell musty, like a waterlogged library. Though the garden shows signs of maintenance, the interior is oppressively lifeless. Without people to fill it, the house has become a shadow of its former self. Underneath all of that, the place is the same as the sisters remember. Halliwell Manor looks like home.
"I'm hoping it doesn't come to a fight, but I can take him down if I have to. We shouldn't wait too long."
"That is more intimate information about Lan's performance that I currently have, but I doubt Beatrix will be mad if I ask."
In another room of the house, finishing up a much more exciting activity, Lan tries to catch his breath.
"Wow. We should do that again. I mean more than the 'again' we already did it. Just, again. Wow."
Giggle. Kiss. "I approve. Gosh, if you behave I might even give you a praising recommendations to my sisters. Telling them that really ought to try sometime."
"I'm happy to keep the Halliwell sisters entertained. I can't think of a better purpose in life."
"I will get that." She throws on a bathrobe on herself. Lan can get a towel that barely covers anything at all.
She opens the door.
"We have the beginnings of a plan. We can spend a couple of days training, but not more than that. I'm not risking bringing the entire forces of Hell down on us."
Felicia freezes.
In the sense that time freezes. Theo is not caught, but Lan stands still.
And they in fact don't. Lan unfreezes.
"Why are you waving your hands in front of my face?"
"You kinda froze all of a sudden." Beatrix says and then she steals the towel he was using to cover himself up.
