Tau nods and fishes out the appropriate money. By her own mental calculations, she should still have enough to buy supplies before heading out anywhere.

"So, if you don't mind me asking," she says quietly. "Is there a reason you decided to...uh, acquire my meds for me?"

She looks at the ceiling.

"Why not? It's why I was in there and it wasn't hard to add one more to the bunch."

That seems to fit something to do with Tau's worldview, and she nods. "Thank you. You sure I can't do anything for you othere than buy you dinner?"

She leans back in her chair.

"Feel like catching me a pokemon? I've got the pokeballs."

She doesn't sound like she expects the answer to be yes.

Tau looks thoughtful for a moment. "What kind of pokemon are you looking to catch? And how far from the city are you willing to go to get it?"

"Anything. I want to get out of here. I can't make it very far by myself, but once I have a pokemon I'm not sticking close to civilization."

"Reasonable. We can find something a bit more powerful if you're willing to go a little further? And my guys are pretty good, so we can probably risk going a little further out without you having a pokemon of your own, than we could otherwise... if you're up for that?"

"I am."

"Brilliant. We can do that then. Although I'd suggest heading out in the morning? I'm pretty wiped out right now, and I'd prefer not to navigate anything in the dark anyway?"

"I'm not in a rush, though you might be."

She shrugs. "Only to get enough money by the time this supply runs out. And I think I can do that if I push myself a bit harder. A day or two to help you catch a pokemon isn't going to be a problem." Well, it might be, but not so much she's not going to do it - she owes Ryou still.

"If it is, I'll get you another bottle."

"With any luck it won't come to that. ...But I do appreciate the thought."

The woman who opened the door plops down two plates in front of them.

The silverware may have been rinsed off since it was last used, but it hasn't been cleaned.

On the plates there is a giant mound of a stew, pasty thing. It it full of fish and some sorts of vegetables cut into very small pieces and lumps of breadry pastry. For all that it is hard to identify, it tastes good and is very filling.

Tau is immediately distracted by the food (although she does hand over the money to pay for it, she's not going to forget that), and it is probably apparent that Ryou is not going to get any more conversation out of her until she's finished eating. She eats like she hasn't had a good meal in a while, and certainly doesn't seem to have even glanced twice at the state of the cutlery.

Ryou is equally intent on her own meal.

Then the meal will probably be consumed in complete silence. Tau makes a satisfied sound as she finishes.

"Meet you in the morning?" Ryou asks.

"That works," Tau nods. She'll figure something out about where she's sleeping tonight - she's pretty sure she saw a pilgrimage hostel on her way to get her meds, they were usually fairly cheap, she should have enough, even factoring in big city prices.

"The west gate?"

"Sounds like a plan. First light?"

Ryou nods.

"Till then then," Tau says, getting to her feet and lifting her bag. She does look around to see if she should be leaving her plate anywhere.

There is a stack of dirty plates on a table against the back wall.

If Ryou's done, she'll take her plate as well, and add them to the pile before she leaves.
