She focuses, trying to identify... Yeah. Her heart beat has slowed down as well.

"That's weird," she decides, flinches slightly like she hadn't meant to say it aloud, and then looks back at the twins. "Everything seems...clearer?" She blinks a couple of times, looking around feeling almost like she's seeing things for the first time.

"Feels good, don't it? So why were you trying to kill us?"

It does, but that question, for now, douses any joy she's feeling.

"Father...thought you might be easier to kill than an adult," she admits quietly, wrapping her arms around herself. "He...doesn't like vampires. Don't know why."

"We should find you a mirror or something."

"...Why?" She reaches up to touch her face, wondering if she got something on it. Which is about when she notices that her hands are...a lot paler than she remembers. She stares, almost blankly. "Oh."

"If you would just follow us..." He and Tabby speed off into the forest.

Shana follows, used to following orders. She's a little startled at the speed she can get to, but barely falters, and manages to at the very least keep the twins in sight.

She's led to a somewhat decrepit abandoned house. "Behold, our treasure hoard!"

It still looks better than some of the places she's stayed. "You...have a lot of treasure?" she asks carefully.

"Yup."

They lead her inside. There is indeed a lot of...treasure. Old video game consoles, DVDs, VCRs, books, a mirror...

Oddly, the mirror isn't the first thing that catches her attention. The books, DVDs and VCRs are apparently more interesting. (Any access she had to them before was her stealing them, mostly books, and she had liked reading.)

After a moment, she remembers they'd mentioned finding her a mirror. She moves over to it, steeling herself. She is...very pale.

"This is...normal?" she asks.

"Pretty much. It's kinda less obvious with us. If humans ask, just say you're albino."

She nods her understanding, drifting back towards the DVDs and books and...games consoles? Those are something her only knowledge of comes from seeing adverts for them in cities. She doesn't actually touch anything, but she does look closely at things, leaning close.

"You wanna play one?"

"...I'm not sure I would be...any good at it," she says cautiously. "But...if you don't mind?"

"Then we must find somewhere with electricity!"

"So...go and find a house that's still hooked in?" she tilts her head, trying to remember if there was such a place, preferably empty as well. (She didn't shy from killing, but she still preferred not confronting adults if at all avoidable.)

"Yeah. Probably some people on holiday."

Shana frowns, slightly, looking down. Because she had been scoping out the houses around here before she got sent on this hunt. They'd been settled in the area for a while. "I think there was a house on..." she gives an address. "We'd need to look some more, but I remember watching them leave? Seemed to have a lot of luggage?"

"Lead the way, newbie!"

So Shana does. The house she leads to does indeed, appear to currently be empty, and does not look like anyone is coming back to it imminently. Shana picks the lock on the back door, just to be further helpful.

"Could you teach me to do that some time? I usually just break them."

"Uh, sure?" It sounds a little like she thought that was a skill that most people had. "It's...easier to be able to sneak in and out of other places if you don't break doors. People don't know you've been here if you don't break things."

"Oooh, they have an X-Box."

Zeke runs over and sets up Fallout 3.

"Is that good?" Shana asks, following curiously.
