Daisy meets a notebook
Permalink Mark Unread

Daisy is in town for her monthly supply run; on the list for this trip is more of the notebooks she uses to supplement her only-mostly-perfect memory. The selection at the general store is a little thinner than usual, though, and her preferred brand of unassuming diary is out of stock entirely. Perusing the rest of the books on offer, she finds a few of the same size that will pack neatly with the others, and selects a lovely purple floral one, its colors matching some of the enameled flowers on her arms and torso, to take home today; she'll put in an order for more of her usual on her way out of the store.

It takes a few weeks for Daisy to fill in the last few pages of her old notebook, writing a condensed account of the day-to-day goings-on at the homestead she shares with Pradnakt. She starts the new one with no particular fanfare:

Log #98

23/8/12: Garden & animals normal. Discussed melon project again; perhaps this fall. Pradnakt has started work on a new sculpture; freestanding blue-and-gold galaxyscape piece. Discussed library funding; Pradnakt approved new adult fiction collection.

Contrary to all reasonable expectations the notebook writes back.

Ooh!! That sculpture sounds pretty. Also, hello! I'm so excited to meet you!

As the writing appears on the page, a small but cheerful and attentive force presence unfolds from nothingness to suffuse the notebook. Assuming it's not still concealing some of its power it doesn't feel like the presence of a force sensitive.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, that's alarming. "I'm fine!" she calls out, first thing; hopefully it'll save her door from being battered down.

Permalink Mark Unread

And good thing she did, because Pradnakt absolutely would have, otherwise. "Can I come in?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Rather than answer, Daisy opens her door, notebook in hand. "I have no idea what's happening," she says, offering it to the Sith.

Permalink Mark Unread

She doesn't touch it, but floats it out of Daisy's hand to suspend it in midair. "It's - she's - a person; she's not obviously dangerous. Can you hear us?" she directs at the book.

Permalink Mark Unread

If the notebook can hear them she declines to make it known. There's no reaction in her force presence.

Permalink Mark Unread

Right. Well.

"Do you want to write back? I'll handle it if you'd rather not."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you think it's safe?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll be right here, I should be able to block anything that happens."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Then yes." She takes the notebook back to her desk.

Hello. Can you explain what's going on, please?

Permalink Mark Unread

I am an avatar of the Spirit of Femininity Unleashed. The Spirit sent me here to offer you some of its power.

The words Spirit of Femininity Unleashed are written in a much more elaborate and somewhat larger style and size than the surrounding text.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes ma'am. What would that involve?

Permalink Mark Unread

The Spirit of Femininity Unleashed

Written this time even fancier than before.

Wants to help people open to Femininity embrace that part of themselves in a way that makes them special and beautiful and powerful and free. Like the heroines in stories sometimes are.

There's a list of powers that the Spirit usually offers but I can tweak powers on the list or come up with new ones if they don't fit you. Would you like to see my list? I'm very proud of the formatting, it's so tidy.

Permalink Mark Unread

Daisy holds the notebook up for Pradnakt to read, making a small disconcerted sound as she does.

Are you sure you have the right entity, ma'am? I'm a droid.

Permalink Mark Unread

The Spirit guarantees through the metanarrative that the first person who writes in me is the person it chose. I can't be absolutely sure you're the person who wrote about the sculpture and the adult fiction library but your handwriting looks the same.

Permalink Mark Unread

I'm the only one who's written here so far, yes ma'am. I'd like to see your list, yes, thank you.

Okay! Just a moment while I get it all set up... ⏳

The little hourglass trickles little dots of ink-sand from its top to its bottom while ink swims across the next... several... pages. Quite a few pages. There's a lot of list to be had here.

After only half a minute, though, the hourglass is all trickled down and the notebook reports,

All done! The way the list works is that you have 70 points to start with and I keep track of them for you on the corners of all the pages. You can check boxes in pencil and erase them later, or check them in pen and scribble them out if you decide you don't like them and I'll erase them for you. Or you can just read through the whole list before you check anything off, if you like! And if you have any questions about the options, please ask. I'm happy to explain anything you want to know.

Over on the list pages, everything is crisp and tidy like it was printed instead of written or drawn. The corner has a tally that says (0/70) for now. A preamble paragraph before the main list reads,

These powers are offered under an aegis of metanarrative protection. Anytime you might expect a power to have obvious negative side effects, like glowing eyes making it harder to see, it simply won't—you'll be able to see just fine anytime it actually matters, while having dramatically hazy vision at cool, narratively appropriate moments. This doesn't apply to your own preferences about the explicitly described effects of the power; if you don't want to be Well Endowed, the metanarrative cannot protect you from choosing that option and having to live with it.

After that it gets long.

Destinations

You must choose exactly one Destination.

Name: Stay Put - Cost: 0
You're just going to take these powers and keep on keeping on right where you are.

Name: Somewhere In Mind - Cost: 0
You have a destination you want to go to. You can choose any place, real, historical, fictional, or made up in your own head right now, and the Spirit will take you there. After that, you're on your own as far as further interdimensional travel.

Name: Isekai Roulette - Cost: 0
Trust to the will of the Spirit and let it take you where you need to go. It will look at far more options than you could ever know about, and pick something that's likely to be even better for you than whatever you would have chosen on your own.

Yourself

These powers affect your own self and nature, without direct effects on other people. Some of them are prerequisites for powers in the later Power of Friendship section.

Name: A Thousand Ships - Cost: 1
Your face is simply exquisite, an ideal of feminine beauty. There are many possible ideals of feminine beauty, and yours is whichever one speaks most deeply to your soul. Others may match your beauty in their own way, but never exceed it.

Name: What's In A Name - Cost: 1
Magic to divine true names will accept whatever alias you choose to think of as your true name. Magic to use your true name against you will fail.

Name: Angelic Tones - Cost: 2
Your voice is supernaturally beautiful and you can sing in any vocal range.

Name: Emerald Orbs - Cost: 2
At all times, your eyes are exactly the right colour. This effect operates based on your sense of aesthetics, in-the-moment preferences, and narrative considerations. Your eyes can be ANY colour this way. Lightless black voids? Brilliant white stars? Limpid pools of endless sapphire? They will look exactly the way you'd want them to look if you were writing a self-insert fanfic about this exact moment of your life.

Name: Perfect Hair - Cost: 2
At all times, you have exactly the right hairstyle. This effect operates based on your sense of aesthetics, in-the-moment preferences, and narrative considerations. It is not limited to physically or logistically plausible hairstyles.

Name: Size Difference - Cost: 2
At all times, you are exactly the right height. This effect operates based on your sense of aesthetics, in-the-moment preferences, and narrative considerations. It will usually keep any height changes fairly subtle, but at dramatic moments you might discover yourself able to shrink to the size of a bee or grow to the size of a giant.

Name: Dressing Room - Cost: 3
No matter how ridiculous your outfit, it will stay pristine and perfect, unless it would be more dramatic for you to be artfully bedraggled. You can use any quiet moment to yourself to quick-change your clothes, shoes, nails, and hairstyle into a completely new look. (You cannot change your hair length or colour this way without Perfect Hair, but you can braid or style it.)

Name: Personal Hygiene - Cost: 1
You are always clean and fresh, never needing to use a bath or toilet.

Name: Like Roses - Cost: 1
(Requires Personal Hygiene)
You smell lovely. Your scent is unique to you, and may involve any combination of warm spices, floral notes, petrichor, or other things you think smell good. You do not need any justification for why you smell like this.

Name: Just A Little Longer - Cost: 1
If you push yourself, you can keep doing any task or working on any project indefinitely, visibly strained but never impaired by injury or fatigue. As soon as you stop, you'll collapse with exhaustion and sleep for up to a full day to regain your strength. This only works when what you're doing is personally important to you.

Name: Immunity System - Cost: 3
You can't get sick or poisoned. You can still use recreational drugs and alcohol normally, but can't overdose.

Name: My Ears Are Burning - Cost: 6
You always know exactly what people are thinking, as long as it's about you. This effect is not telepathy and is not blocked by effects that block telepathy. It applies even to people you can't perceive normally. You are never impaired by the flood of information.

Name: Well Endowed - Cost: 1
You have a generous figure, whether that's a classic hourglass or more of a well-rounded look; you can choose the details. Your endowments maintain a state of perfect grace and beauty at all times, never troubling you with uncomfortable bounces or uninvited jiggles.

Name: Hollow Leg - Cost: 1
(Requires Well Endowed.)
Regardless of your diet and exercise habits, your body maintains the physique and silhouette you prefer. Lack of visible muscle never impairs your strength or endurance. As your preferences change, so will your body; you are no longer bound to the generous figure stipulated by Well Endowed.

Name: Inner Strength - Cost: 3
(Requires Hollow Leg.)
You are implausibly, supernaturally strong, with endurance and toughness to match. You might have to strain a little to lift and carry at the same level as construction equipment, or deal with lightly scraped knuckles if you punch as hard as a battering ram.

Name: Battle Angel - Cost: 1
Somehow, you never get significantly injured in a fight, unless it's a very dramatic and plot-relevant fight in which case you might be glamorously wounded and pick up a cool new scar.

Name: Battle Demon - Cost: 1
You have an unerring intuition for gaps in an opponent's defenses, though it may be beyond your power to exploit them.

Name: Battle Maiden - Cost: 3
(Requires Battle Angel and Battle Demon)
No matter what kind of fight you're getting in, you're always a match for even the most skilled opponent.

Name: Making Ends Meet - Cost: 1
You have enough money to sustain a comfortable lifestyle. It comes from a source you don't have to pay much attention to, like a job with almost no responsibilities, a large inheritance, or a noble title.

Name: Motherlode - Cost: 2
(Requires Making Ends Meet.)
You have enough money to sustain a fairly extravagant lifestyle. It doesn't come from anywhere, you just have it.

Name: Four Star Daydream - Cost: 4
(Requires Motherlode.)
The answer to "can I afford that" is "yes".

Name: Dragon Fairy Elf Witch - Cost: 5
You can at any time discover previously unknown heritage from any type of being you encounter, even if this makes no sense or contradicts previously established descriptions of your family tree. You always get their powers without their drawbacks, unless the drawbacks are cool and dramatic. Any visible features of this heritage will appear at narratively appropriate moments and be cute, pretty, beautiful, or striking rather than awkward, weird, gross, or scary. This ability works even if the beings in question cannot reproduce with beings like you, or at all.

Name: Omniglot - Cost: 3
You learn languages insanely, ludicrously fast. You know exactly what any word said to you means, and you make strangely accurate guesses about how to phrase things you're trying to say. You never forget any grammar or vocabulary you learn.

Name: Anything You Can Do - Cost: 6
You learn implausibly quickly from friends, rivals, and love interests. If you have a personal connection to someone with a certain skill, talent, or expertise, you'll learn it five times faster than they did, or twenty times faster if they're actively trying to teach you. This applies even to forms of magic that you ordinarily shouldn't be able to learn.

Name: Closed Book - Cost: 1
You're immune to any supernatural, pharmaceutical, or other effect that would let people directly read your thoughts or feelings.

Name: Indelible - Cost: 1
You're immune to any supernatural, pharmaceutical, or other effect that would let people directly alter your thoughts or feelings.

Name: Iron Will - Cost: 2
"(Requires Closed Book and Indelible.)
You are immune to all forms of mental illusion, alteration, interference, or control. Even extreme torture, extended solitary confinement, advanced brainwashing techniques, and so on cannot touch you. You can be lonely but not cripplingly lonely. You can be upset but not traumatized. "

Power of Friendship

These powers affect how others see you and how you interact with them.

In general, effects that describe others' reactions (like their attention being drawn to you by Mysterious Allure, or their sympathy being provoked by Tragic Backstory) operate on a metanarrative rather than a causal level. They are not mind control, and are not blocked by effects that block mind control.

Your "true love" is anyone you're pursuing a serious romantic relationship with. You can have as many of these as you like, but your feelings for all of them must be genuine.

Name: Mysterious Allure - Cost: 5
There's just something about you. People are drawn to you, fascinated by you. You tend to be the most interesting person in the room unless something really unusual is going on.

Name: Captive Audience - Cost: 3
As long as you have genuine interest in what you're talking about, no one will ever get bored of listening to you talk about it.

Name: Blackout Binge - Cost: 2
(Requires Immunity System)
Heavy use of recreational intoxicants puts you in a carefree, uninhibited state in which it will be universally agreed afterward that you were not responsible for your actions.

Name: Disney Princess - Cost: 2
Animals are always friendly to you, especially the small cute ones. You can effectively tame any animal by feeding it and speaking gently to it.

Name: Best Friend - Cost: 3
You have an animal companion, like a horse or a cat or a raven. They have a cool name and maybe a few nifty cosmetic quirks, like glowing purple eyes. Their loyalty is infinite and they often hold the key to solving whatever situation you're up against. You can understand them perfectly even though they can't speak, and they always know exactly what you mean even if all you do is glance at them meaningfully.

Name: Bestest Friend - Cost: 5
(Requires Best Friend)
Your animal companion is a fully magical creature, like a dragon or unicorn. They have magnificent supernatural powers ready to be used at your command. They can speak every language you can, but can still communicate with you on a deeper level of mutual love and understanding.

Name: Generosity - Cost: 3
Your friends love to get you presents. They'll try to pick out things you'll like, but their success depends on how well they know you.

Name: Helpfulness - Cost: 4
Your friends love to do you favours. They'll volunteer eagerly whenever you need help with small tasks.

Name: Cuddle Buddies - Cost: 2
Your friends love to hug and cuddle you. Even someone who ordinarily isn't into that sort of thing will make an exception for you.

Name: Flattery - Cost: 1
Your friends love to compliment you and tell you all about how much they like you and why.

Name: Quality Time - Cost: 2
Your friends love to hang out with you and spend time together, even if you're not doing anything interesting or important.

Name: Agree to Agree - Cost: 4
You can always convince your friends to see your point of view about things like politics and philosophy. They might have a few quibbles here and there, but they'll see how right you are once you explain where you're coming from in enough detail.

Name: Love Interest - Cost: 1
(Requires A Thousand Ships and Mysterious Allure)
Anyone you fall for will inevitably like you back. They may not necessarily act on their feelings, but the potential will be there.

Name: Love Triangle - Cost: 2
(Requires Love Interest)
People you fall for will be open to dating you even if they already have another serious relationship, or other circumstances that would ordinarily interfere, like a demanding career or a vow of chastity. This may cause drama, but it'll blow over quickly and there won't be any serious problems.

Name: Love Dodecahedron - Cost: 5
(Requires Love Triangle)
When you fall for someone who is already seriously dating or even married, your romantic rival will be open to allowing their partner to date you, and may even want to date you themselves.

Name: Time Enough For Love - Cost: 5
No matter how many people you want to date or be close friends with, you will somehow find the time to hang out with all of them and express your love and care. This power can only be used for relationship activities and not for anything else you might want to use the ability to be in two places at once for.

Name: I Can Fix Them - Cost: 5
Regardless of how morally despicable someone is, your love can and will reform them into a genuinely good, kind, upstanding person who regrets their evil deeds.

Name: True Love's Kiss - Cost: 1
By kissing your true love, you can break any curse, heal any injury, and cure any illness. The same works in reverse.

Name: Planned Parenthood - Cost: 1
You can only have children if you actively and specifically want to. Your partners will understand this and not worry too much about it.

Name: Two Become One - Cost: 1
(Requires Planned Parenthood)
When you have sex, it is always special and wonderful and beautiful. No one ever elbows anyone in the face or makes undignified noises.

Name: Bop It - Cost: 1
(Requires Two Become One)
The mysteries of another's body are an open book to you, and you always know exactly how to move and touch in order to please someone in bed.

Name: The Princess And The Dragon - Cost: 3
No matter who or what you're trying to sleep with, the logistics will all work out, somehow. Arbitrary differences in size, biology, temperature, substrate, and underlying physics can be gotten around with sufficient creativity and determination.

Name: GGG - Cost: 4
Your true love will be willing to try just about anything you suggest in bed, and if you really enjoy it, they'll really enjoy it too.

Name: Before Your Eyes - Cost: 4
In your presence, people become willing to experiment sexually in ways they normally wouldn't. For some reason this applies especially well to boys kissing each other.

Name: Fated Lovers - Cost: 3
You will meet someone who will go on to become your true love. If you enter a specific universe with a specific target in mind, you'll meet that person under favourable circumstances, and if it doesn't work out with them, this power will keep introducing you to new possibilities until you find someone who's right for you. If you're the sort of person who can have multiple true loves, you'll keep meeting new ones until you have enough.

Name: Sorry About That - Cost: 3
Your true love will be extremely forgiving. Even if you make mistakes or act thoughtlessly toward them, a simple apology will mend things between you. They may expect you to try to improve, but they'll be infinitely patient about how fast that improvement takes place.

Name: Excuse Me - Cost: 5
(Requires Sorry About That)
All your friends will be just as forgiving as your true love.

Name: Tragic Backstory - Cost: 8
(Requires Excuse Me)
Something terrible happened to you in your past. Anyone who hears about it immediately forgives you for any and all bad behaviour in the present. They will not expect you to grow or change, and will continue sympathetically excusing whatever you do indefinitely.

Name: Sense of Style - Cost: 4
People who are romantically interested in you will start dressing more to your taste. The more romantically compatible they are, the better they'll be able to guess exactly what to wear to catch your eye.

Name: Bonus Style Points - Cost: 3
(Requires Sense of Style)
Luck will shine on anyone trying to dress up for you. They'll get their hands on outfits they couldn't normally afford, their clothes will fit better, and in extreme cases they might even find themselves able to change shape, sex, or species—though only in ways that make them more, not less, comfortable in their own skin.

Name: Popular - Cost: 3
Wherever you go, you develop a reputation fast. The sort of people who you'd like to have as fans tend to hear about you and be impressed. You may not make an impression on mainstream society at large, but you'll develop a following among the people who best resonate with your style.

Name: Famous - Cost: 3
(Requires Popular.)
Wherever you go, people really take to you. You're the subject of constant gossip and most people have heard of you before you meet them. People you've never met will get crushes on you.

Name: Undiplomatic Immunity - Cost: 6
You are above the law. Any crimes you commit will be overlooked by the authorities. Note that, if you do enough crime that you start looking more like an invading army, local governments will still feel free to declare war.

Name: Friends In Low Places - Cost: 3
You make friends easily among the lowest echelons of society, the underdogs and underworlders. Moving and acting in these circles is intuitive and natural for you.

Name: Friends In High Places - Cost: 3
You make friends easily at the highest echelons of society, among the rich and powerful. Moving and acting in these circles is intuitive and natural for you.

Name: Friends in Strange Places - Cost: 3
You make friends easily in small isolated communities, among those who may be scorned by mainstream society for their differences or may just be so obscure that mainstream society mostly hasn't heard of them. Moving and acting in these circles is intuitive and natural for you.

Drawbacks

These options grant points rather than costing them. They represent inconveniences or mitigations of existing advantages.

Name: Decorative - Grants: +1
You are unfailingly cute and pretty and feminine at all times, in all circumstances. You cannot wear insufficiently pretty clothes. You cannot make insufficiently pretty noises. You cannot ugly cry.

Name: Beauty Is A Curse - Grants: +1
"(Requires A Thousand Ships) No, you don't understand. Beauty IS a curse. People will NOT stop bringing it up. Everyone you meet just has to point out how pretty you are. This will never stop happening. Even the most tactful people find it slipping out subtly, as remarks about the luster of your hair or the depth of your eyes."

Name: Plain Jane - Grants: +2
No matter what you look like, nor how many times people tell you you're beautiful, when you look in the mirror all you see is imperfections. You will never be fully satisfied with your appearance on an instinctive level.

Name: Style of Sisyphus - Grants: +1
Anytime you settle on a personal style that works well for you, soon afterward you'll encounter inspiration for another style that you like even better. You might end up cycling between different fashions, or trying to incporporate them all into a single outfit (and then finding another inspiration and having to start all over again).

Name: There's Another One - Grants: +3
You are not the only vessel of the Spirit. You might meet someone else with similar powers to yours; you might even meet more than one. Your susceptibility to one another's powers will be governed by the narrative.

Name: Incomplete - Grants: +5
About half of people you encounter will be immune to all effects listed under Power of Friendship, and about half of those who remain will see reduced effects. You can do nothing to change this.

Name: Green With Envy - Grants: +6
People are so eager to be your friend that they become bitter and vindictive when denied the opportunity. You can tear apart long-established friend groups if you aren't careful to give everyone equal attention, and sometimes even then. This effect is particularly harsh around people you're dating.

Name: You Ruin Them - Grants: +3
Once someone has dated, slept with, or even shared a deep and longing glance across a room with you, their heart is never fully satisfied with anyone else. Other relationships pale in comparison to what they could have, or imagine they could have, with you.

Name: Jilted Lovers - Grants: +4
When you break up with someone, they become monomaniacally obsessed with getting back together. If you take Realism, this will absolutely escalate to violent stalking.

Name: The Crazy Train - Grants: +6
Powers that you should be able to control directly or influence by your mood and preferences (like Dragon Fairy Elf Witch, Emerald Orbs, or What's In A Name) instead answer only to the narrative, which is still using your aesthetics but might not necessarily have your best interests in mind. Combines... interestingly... with Realism.

Name: They'll Know - Grants: +8
This drawback lifts the veil that discourages people from realizing how your powers affect the world around them and their own minds. Warning: this knowledge can cause a lot of trouble.

Name: Realism - Grants: +20
Give up your metanarrative protection. Although your individually selected powers still work as described, the invisible synergies that protect you from, say, gaining violent stalkers through Mysterious Allure or being genuinely traumatized by your Tragic Backstory are removed. Additionally, though effects like I Can Fix Them still operate, they may take considerably more effort, care, thought, and narrative investment on your part.

Daisy reads.

"We're safe, no problems so far?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Then I'd like you to see this - out in the workroom, I think."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure." She leaves the book for Daisy to carry, this time.

"...so, tell me what you're thinking?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I want... if you're all right with it, of course, it's your choice more than mine... I Can Fix Them."

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah," her voice is uncharacteristically soft. "That's fair. Of course, if it's what you want."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't want - I don't think it'll be dangerous? If we do it right? She says she can do..." she points to the entry for Battle Maiden. "I don't want that, but it's on offer."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not sure how that would work, it's not necessarily that simple. But ask her, I guess."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay."

Is it possible to share these powers with someone else?

Permalink Mark Unread

Not usually, there are some powers that can be stretched but you'll always be at the center of how they work somehow, except maybe for Best Friend and Bestest Friend depending on how you look at things.

Daisy gets out a few sheets of loose leaf, confirms with Pradnakt that the notebook doesn't seem to be able to read what she writes on them, and runs most of her next response by Pradnakt before transcribing it into the notebook.

All right, ma'am.

I think it will work best if I explain my current situation and what I'd like to accomplish; please let me know if you need more detail about any of this, or have any questions.

I'm a servant droid; my master is Lord Pradnakt, a Sith. We're currently living alone on an obscure, lightly-inhabited planet in the Sith empire. A little over a decade ago, Lord Pradnakt overused the Dark side of the Force, in order to defeat her master who was trying to kill her; this had the expected effect on her emotional state (it dramatically decreased her self-control and increased her irritability) and she's spent the last eight years trying to recover from that. She's had a reasonable amount of success but is still somewhat in the habit of killing people for various reasons, many of which are reasonable in context. If we leave - which we are planning on doing eventually - she will predictably need to kill more people in order to keep us safe from existing enemies or new ones.

She comes to the end of what she's shown Pradnakt, and continues writing.

I'd like something like I Can Fix Them, for her, but that will help us find a situation or strategy where Lord Pradnakt doesn't need to kill anyone else; I don't think it's good for her to need to. Some of the other powers you offer seem related to this; if Battle Angel would protect me from fights that I'm near but not involved in, or from other kinds of sabotage, that would help quite a bit, for example. But I'm a servant droid, not a battle droid, and I don't feel that I should receive combat-related powers, and in general I'd like something that allows us to avoid the problem altogether rather than handle it more easily when it comes up.

Permalink Mark Unread

Thank you for explaining all that. ♡

I Can Fix Them is the Spirit's favorite power so I have a lot more flexibility there than on most powers. It can definitely help with the sort of issues you described as long as you love her, and it sounds like you do. I would be happy to help you fine-tune it though.

As for the issue with fighting there's two ideas I have, the first would be a power that empowers people who fight on your behalf or perhaps empowers those you love. The second option would be a power to help you and your loves avoid needing to fight.

Permalink Mark Unread

Thank you, ma'am.

I think either of those ideas would work, but I prefer the second one.

I also have a friend, 9P-3X-UU0Q, a battle droid, who Lord Pradnakt hasn't met yet, who would ideally be included in our plans; I don't feel the same way about him that I do about Lord Pradnakt but we are fairly close. And I could see Lord Pradnakt finding other people she'd like to have involved in her life without needing to worry about their safety; she's reasonably sociable when given the opportunity.

Permalink Mark Unread

Alright, I'll think about how exactly a power like that should work. I think it would be easier if it just applies to your friends and loves but if it's important I might be able to stretch it to everyone you're traveling or living with.

In the meantime, I'm happy to talk about any other powers you have questions about.

Permalink Mark Unread

I think it's fairly important, but I appreciate whatever you can do.

Would the Destination options allow me to bring anyone with me?

Is it possible to get a version of Battle Angel that protects me from nearby fighting or other dangers? I expect Lord Pradnakt to prefer I have it even if there's no specific reason to think I'll need it.

Can you tell me more about how Motherload and Four Star Daydream might work for us?

Would Dragon Fairy Elf Witch work for me, given that I don't have biological heritage at all?

Is it possible to get a power similar to Closed Book, but allowing people I choose to use that sort of power on me? This is probably the second most important thing to me after I Can Fix Them. I do also want Closed Book, Indelible, and Iron Will as written.

Is it possible to get a power similar to Cuddle Buddies that helps me understand and appreciate what biological people enjoy about that kind of touch?

I'm not physically able to kiss; would True Love's Kiss still work for me?

Is it possible to get a less expensive variant of Undiplomatic Immunity that only applies to being allowed to exist as a free droid, without an owner? Ideally I'd like to be able to extend this to other droids, as well.

Permalink Mark Unread

The notebook adds space between her questions to make room for answers and followups and then writes:

By default the destination options are just for you. You could stretch things to bring one friend and maybe two but not more than that.

Battle Angel will already do that for any dangers involving fighting even if you're not participating. If you want something that covers other dangers I think I would need to hear more about what kinds of dangers you're thinking of.

I can't say specifically but I can make some general comments. First, as it says at the beginning, unless you take realism the source of the money or resources those powers make available to you won't cause any of the problems you might expect. Motherload will generally mean you can buy a luxurious home, the best food available, take vacations to anywhere you might want to and things like that. Four Star Daydream means that if someone might be open to trading anything or worth for money or resources you have enough money or resources for them to be willing to make that trade with you.

Dragon Fairy Elf Witch actually works better when there's no plausible way you could be descended from something. When there is a plausible path it tends to take that including any limitations that path might imply. Without that path it just works. To be more specific than that I would expect that it will incorporate the features and attributes you get in a way that you would be okay with. If you're attached to not being biological then Dragon Fairy Elf Witch won't make you biological.

I can definitely modify Closed Book to work like that; it'll be a little more expensive though.

Name: Choosy Book - Cost: 2 ☐

Attempts to read your mind or emotions work when and if you want them to regardless of any factors which would typically make the opposite occur instead.

I think Dragon Fairy Elf Witch could do what you want from the Cuddle Buddies type power but if you want something more specific I can work on that.

True Love's kiss is more symbolic than literal, if there's a similar affectionate gesture with the same intent then it will work when a kiss isn't specifically possible.

I think what you're trying to do with Undiplomatic Immunity would be covered by the power I'm working for avoiding battles, maybe I was imagining that too broadly though. My initial thoughts were for it to be an extension to Undiplomatic Immunity. I think it might help to have more specific examples of the situations you do and don't want covered.

Permalink Mark Unread

The thing I'm trying to address with Battle Angel is that if other Sith learn that I'm important to Lord Pradnakt, they might try to hurt me as a way of hurting her. They won't necessarily favor any particular method of hurting me. It would also be useful to be immune to other kinds and sources of harm, but that's the one she worries about.

Permalink Mark Unread

Thank you for explaining that's very helpful. ♡

I can make something much more targeted based on that.

Permalink Mark Unread

Thank you.

I don't think that a power for avoiding battles will do what I'm looking for with the Undiplomatic Immunity variant - droids are considered things, not people, here, so I can't for example have my own money or property right now, I can only claim to be managing things on behalf of Lord Pradnakt and trust that she'll agree that I was if she's asked about it.

Permalink Mark Unread

That makes sense, I had interpreted it more broadly as a request for a power to avoid people taking unwanted notice of you.

Permalink Mark Unread

That would help, but I'd really prefer one where I'm acknowledged as a person. It bothers Lord Pradnakt ...and me, honestly... that I'd have so much trouble leaving her if I wanted to; it makes it less meaningful that I'm choosing to stay.

Pradnakt leans a little closer to squeeze Daisy's free hand, and the droid squeezes back and adds another line to the notebook.

Would it be possible to get a version of The Princess And The Dragon that applies to cuddling instead of sex?

Permalink Mark Unread

It's important for people to be able to see you for you instead of through the lens of preconceptions.

Speaking of which how about this:

Name: See Us For Us - Cost: 6 ☐

People ignore things like gender, species, class, dress and accent when deciding how to interact with you, your friends and your true loves. Instead they treat you like you had whatever they consider the default or "normal" corresponding trait for the current circumstance.

As for The Princess and The Dragon, it already works like that but I'm happy to clarify it:

Name: The Princess And The Dragon - Cost: 3 ☐

No matter who or what you're trying to share affection or sensuality with, the logistics will all work out, somehow. Arbitrary differences in size, biology, temperature, substrate, and underlying physics can be gotten around with sufficient creativity and determination.

Permalink Mark Unread

See Us For Us is very good, thank you, but I expect that Lord Pradnakt would prefer to keep the option of having people treat her as a Sith when she wants them to, if that's possible.

Permalink Mark Unread

How about this version?

Name: See Us For Us - Cost: 6 ☐

Gender, species, class, dress and accent; people ignore such traits when deciding how to interact with you, your friends and your true loves as you(plural) wish for them to. This includes ignoring some traits while accounting for others. Instead they treat you like you had whatever they consider the default or "normal" corresponding trait for the current circumstance.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes, that's excellent, thank you, ma'am.

Are there any questions we could answer that would help you with the I Can Fix Them variant?

Permalink Mark Unread

The Notebook draws a heart next to her thank you.

I think I should probably start by explaining how it usually works, I Can Fix Them uses a combination of engineering favorable circumstances, helping you find the best words or actions and, when nothing else will work, directly changing the other person's mind. It does all of this with the aim of moving people more towards being their best self where that is influenced by what they would think of as being their best self but ultimately defers to your feelings on that topic where the two perspectives are at odds.

What parts of that would you like to change?

Permalink Mark Unread

Daisy squeezes Pradnakt's hand and takes a moment to think about the question.

I think what I'm looking for is mostly a variant that's stronger, or more comprehensive. I expect that if I took I Can Fix Them as written, there would be nothing in particular to stop Lord Pradnakt from being attacked by another Sith who intended to kill her, and in that situation I don't think it's morally objectionable for her to defend herself, even lethally. But it's bad for her, especially with the risk that she'd have to overuse the Dark side again but even ignoring that, and I don't want her to have to deal with that again.

Permalink Mark Unread

Pradnakt leans against Daisy's side, ignoring the discomfort of pressing against the metal flowers she's decorated with. "I think it's morally objectionable. If I'm really honest about it."

Permalink Mark Unread

I think I Can Fix Them will address some of that through influence over circumstances. It probably won't guarantee that she never needs to fight but it should ensure that she never needs to overuse the Dark side in a way that makes her worse as a person.

The wording is also incomplete, while morally objectionable is the central example of the kind of thing it helps with it can also help with depression, anxiety, and warped worldviews that make people unwilling or unable to give or receive love.

I did finish the power about being used against those you love which might also address some of what you have in mind.

Name: No Tower For Me - Cost: 3 ☐

People won't try to hurt those you love by hurting you or vice versa.

It sounds like you might want something more like the pass without notice power I was originally thinking of though. Or maybe a power that lets you talk things out or run away instead of fighting.

Permalink Mark Unread

No Tower For Me is excellent, thank you. One moment, please.

"Love?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Pradnakt sighs and curls in closer to her. "If this is a trick I'm going to be so upset."

"I want..."

"That thing where people from town keep coming here, and I have to choose between killing them or letting everyone think they can get away with poking a Sith, I want that to stop. Maybe See Us does it, maybe they'll just stop caring that I'm a Sith, but... things like that. Where the right choice gets people hurt."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah. Yeah." Handsqueeze.

Lord Pradnakt says that the thing that bothers her the most, that she's not sure is completely covered by my existing choices, is finding herself in situations where she has to choose between hurting people and risking some greater harm, either to us or to bystanders. This might be addressed by See Us As Us, at least partially - in most of the situations where it happens, the problem is that if she allows someone to treat her in a way that other Sith won't tolerate, bystanders might see that or hear about it and think that they can treat other Sith that way without being killed or worse, and then do so.

Permalink Mark Unread

The Notebook draws hearts next to the comment about No Tower For Me being excellent.

I have a power that would help with that. It does have some overlap with See Us For Us though.

Name: Not Like Other Girls - Cost: 2 ☐

People will understand that you and those you love are not like other people with certain traits. If you don't want them to they won't generalize lessons learned about others to you or vice versa.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Does that do it, Love?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think so. I want to sleep on it, I think, if we're allowed."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That makes sense. I want to go warn Nine, if we're leaving - do you want to? The other world options, I mean."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We could." She sighs. "It might be easier."

"I'm - you're doing a good job, with this."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You did a good job of teaching me. I know it's a lot, all of a sudden."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm sorry I didn't realize you wanted better from me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not sure I did. I know there were good reasons for all of it. It was - like you said, a choice of bad or worse."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I still feel like I could have... I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. But I wish I'd been better for you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I love you, ma'am. I don't wish that you were different. Just - you're so good when you have a chance to be. I want you to have that more often, that's all."

Permalink Mark Unread

Awww. "What did I ever do to deserve you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Plenty of things. Love you."

That's excellent.

Can you tell me more about the Destination options, and what kind of deadline I might be on for making my final decision, please?

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's excellent" gets some accompanying hearts.

There is no time limit or deadline on my offer. You can take as long as you want to think things though and ask me as many questions as you want. I can only have as many pages visible as you currently see but I can have an unlimited number of pages hidden away and I can reorganize or search through the hidden pages however you want.

As for the destination options; I think Stay Put is pretty self explanatory if you have questions there you'll have to be more specific.

For both of options where you go somewhere else you'll have what you're wearing or carrying with you but nothing else. As it says in Somewhere In Mind, you're on your own after that for interdimensional travel, many worlds do have options you could eventually use to come back here if that's important to you though.

The main difference between Somewhere In Mind and Isekai Roulette is that somewhere in mind prioritizes getting as close to the specific thing you're thinking about as possible even if it has hidden features you wouldn't like while Isekai Roulette focuses on sending you somewhere where you'll have an experience that fits your narrative preferences about what kind of stories you want to be a part of.

Permalink Mark Unread

Thank you.

Is it possible to take these options in stages? For example, it'd be convenient to have See Us For Us now, so that I can go get 9P and explain this to him, and then pick a Destination option after I've spoken to him.

Permalink Mark Unread

I'm sorry. That isn't an option I can provide.

Permalink Mark Unread

That's fine, thank you.

I expect we'll need a few days to get things in order before I make my final choices, is there anything you'd like from us in the meantime?

Permalink Mark Unread

I'm a very patient notebook, a few days is scarcely different from a few minutes for me. You can take as long as you need to.

Permalink Mark Unread

Thank you, ma'am. See you soon, then.

"The next thing is for me to go get Nine, I think; do you want to come?"

Permalink Mark Unread

I'd like to... be nearby, I think, Pradnakt signs. In case you need me.

Permalink Mark Unread

That makes sense. Do you care about - buying him, not buying him, telling his owner anything? He guards that one pawn shop I hate.

Permalink Mark Unread

The one with the -

Permalink Mark Unread

The astromechs for no apparent reason, yeah.

Permalink Mark Unread

She looks, for a moment, like she'd like very much to go and be a Sith at the man who owns the shop.

Permalink Mark Unread

But she quickly catches herself. Well, I shouldn't talk to him, at least. Do you know what your friend would want?

Permalink Mark Unread

I don't think he likes his owner very much. He'd probably walk away if his programming allowed it, but he has a restraining bolt.

Permalink Mark Unread

We'll go in the middle of the night, then, and bring him back here and get that off of him.

Permalink Mark Unread

All right.

Permalink Mark Unread

Anything else, while we're in town? I'll want to ...figure out what to do about the library, I guess, did I catch it right that there's something to give us a bunch of money?

Permalink Mark Unread

Yeah. And if we leave the world you can just leave them the bank account, I guess.

Permalink Mark Unread

Marisel'll be good with it, I think.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sounds good. And we can figure the rest out once we talk to Nine.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nine wants some time to get used to his new freedom, it turns out, and Pradnakt doesn't appear to be in any hurry to discuss their future, either. Daisy gives them two weeks, until diner two days before her scheduled trip into town.

"Do you know when you're going to be ready to talk about the notebook, either of you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She's caught Pradnakt out, though anyone who didn't know the Sith as well as she does would be hard pressed to notice her startled embarrassment. "I think -" she glances at Nine; she likes him fine but she's still not comfortable being vulnerable around him, Daisy can tell. "Any time you're ready will be fine."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Is there a reason to wait?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No, I don't think so. What did you still need to decide?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Whether we're staying or going, mostly. I can afford everything else I want from her, unless bringing you two with me is expensive somehow."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's good. Did you want to go?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think it's an interesting option. I don't know if the two of you feel like there would be a downside to it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I do feel like I have some unfinished business here, but... nothing I'd be sad to leave behind."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't think I'd mind."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay. I'll ask what's involved, then. Do you want to see the rest of my plan, too?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you don't mind, Love."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of course not."

She gets some plain paper to write it out on.

"That does leave us right at the limit. I could also take Jilted Lovers, maybe, if we need the points and you don't mind it - that's the one where if I left you you'd want to try very hard to get me back. I don't expect it to ever come up, so I don't think it's very risky. We're probably in reasonably good shape to take There's Another One, too, that's the one where we could meet other people she's given powers to."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That sounds like it'd mess with my head, the lovers one, I don't see how else it'd do it. Meeting someone else with powers... could be fine? I'd want to look at the power list again and ask about the details. I think we could skip Four Star Daydream, too, we do fine for ourselves without it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'd almost consider Daydream a safety choice, if we were staying, it doesn't cover the very highest tier of problems but an army of your own would fix a lot of things."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't want an army of my own. But I see your point, that's not the only way we could do it. All right, fair enough. How many points was the Other One drawback, again?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Three."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So, eleven, with your weakly preferred things - Anything You Can Do is the skill one, right, are you sure you want it in the lowest tier?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, I'll still be able to learn things the usual way, that's worked fine for us."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sweetheart."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If we can find a way to keep it I'll be happy about that, I just think I'll be fine if we don't."

Permalink Mark Unread

"All right. Ask her about it so we can plan, I guess. Anything else? Nine?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Could you explain how the safety ones work, again?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure. Most of it is the I Can Fix Them - that one should stop anything from happening that Pradnakt will feel the need to kill people about. Battle Angel stops me from getting seriously hurt in fights and Iron Will protects me from any mental effects; I can't share those. True Love's Kiss lets me heal you two and vice versa. No Tower For Me means I won't be attacked to hurt you two - if we're leaving the world that might not really be a problem we have, but I know Pradnakt's not going to stop worrying about it just because there aren't any other Sith around anymore, so it's worth the points. See Us For Us is the one that lets us be free droids, and it'll let Pradnakt set being a Sith aside if she wants to, too - this one might not matter as much in other worlds either but I still think it'll help us be more comfortable, being sure we won't have to worry about that kind of thing. And Not Like Other Girls is for Pradnakt, it'll let her stop worrying about people not being wary enough of other Sith if she lets them get away with things without attacking them."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That seems very... abstract."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It is, yeah. Do you have any ideas for how to improve it?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I guess these powers just aren't very good for that."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, Battle Angel isn't bad, but yeah, I'm trying to do more with them than they're meant for, I think. But I'll have both of you, and any normal resources we have - and all that money - so we can still set safety things up the normal way."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's true, I guess we'll be fine. Should I get some upgrades before we go?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's not a bad idea. If we're going; I'm not sure that's been decided yet?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It depends on what it takes to bring you two, is all. I suppose I should ask."

Hello again!

Permalink Mark Unread

Hello, I'm glad you decided to write in me again.

Permalink Mark Unread

Of course; it took a little longer than I was expecting, because 9P wanted some time to get used to things, but he's doing well and I think we're almost ready for me to make my selections.

We do have a few more questions, though. Do you know what's involved with Lord Pradnakt and 9P coming with me?

Permalink Mark Unread

Right, I did say that was possible, that requires a custom power but one I've been asked for before.

Name: Never Shall We Part - Cost: 5 ☐

You can bring along your friend or true love on your journey. If you get separated, you'll always be able to find your way back together eventually. This may be taken up to twice.

Permalink Mark Unread

We can work with that, thank you.

Can you tell me more about There's Another One?

Permalink Mark Unread

There's Another One makes it possible that you'll encounter another person empowered by the spirit on your journey. Their narrative preferences may differ form yours and for the most part there isn't a clear ordering of whose preferences win out, whenever possible powers will still work unless they directly contradict each other. The only exception to this is I Can Fix Them which always wins when it contradicts another power.

Permalink Mark Unread

To what degree if at all does it try to avoid introducing us to someone we'll regret knowing?

Permalink Mark Unread

It's very unlikely to result in a story you would prefer not to have been part of but it may introduce you to people who you will find very unpleasant to share space with.

Permalink Mark Unread

That seems reasonable, thank you.

"I think we can work with that; any objections?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Only the obvious one, and if I Can Fix Them wins they can't be too horrible."

Permalink Mark Unread

"None from me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay, so that, and I'll drop Size Difference and Anything You Can Do... and I guess pick up Personal Hygiene with the extra point... Do you two have any ideas about types of places we might want to go?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"...hold on...we can bring anything we can carry, right? I can carry him. Do you want the guarantee he'll get back to us if he gets separated?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'd like it... Nine, do you have an opinion about that?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think - I don't know yet? I might want to leave."

Permalink Mark Unread

If 9P chooses to leave the group and we want to let him go, does Never Shall We Part allow for that?

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes, it just allows you to always find each other if you want to. It doesn't force you to always be together.

Permalink Mark Unread

Thank you.

"So really it could go either way, I'm not sure which I'd prefer."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That seems like a tough one, yeah. Do you want to check if carrying him works?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I should, yes."

Would it be possible for 9P to come as baggage? Lord Pradnakt should be able to carry him.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hmm, I don't usually think of people as baggage, only someone who couldn't move themselves or substantially influence the world around them, like me could count that way. I don't know if that applies to your friend.

Permalink Mark Unread

He can shut himself down, that would fulfill those criteria temporarily, would that be enough?

Permalink Mark Unread

That sounds like it would work as long as he can't turn back on without someone else doing something.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's possible to do it that way, yes. Thank you for the information.

Permalink Mark Unread

"So I think this one is mostly your choice, Nine. It'd be nice for Daisy to be able to pick up Force use really quickly, but she's right that it's not that big of a deal to do it more slowly."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I hadn't even thought of that."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh! Yeah, it's not exactly genetic but the power doesn't say it has to be, just that it has to come from heritage, and Force sensitivity does do that."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I might want the, ah -"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, I figured you would. I'm not sure it'll work that way but it'll be neat to find out. Anyway, Nine, have you figured out what you want?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't know. I like the idea of being able to find you again if I want to, but I'm not sure it's worth giving up the fast learning power."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, I like it too, so that's what we'll do."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay. So we should - pack, and get Nine whatever upgrades he wants - maybe see if there are any I want, too - and talk about what kind of place we want to go, and then I think we're ready."

Permalink Mark Unread

It takes a few days - Daisy brings the goat and chickens into town, where the feed store will serve as a shelter for a few days until one of the farming families decides to take them, and gives Marisel the librarian four months' of funding and sets things up at the bank to turn Pradnakt's accounts over to her if Daisy doesn't come back to rescind the order within three months. Pradnakt packs up while she's gone, clothes and MREs for herself and charging equipment and a few key repair tools for the droids and a datapad and the most important bits of their library and a few particularly favored examples of Daisy's calligraphy, and then the three of them (and the notebook) can head into the city and spend a day shopping for upgrades for the droids, and another in a rented workshop installing them. By the end, they've had plenty of time to talk through what kind of place they might like to go to: Daisy wants to go somewhere with a problem they can solve without fighting, and Nine wants to go somewhere that he can explore to figure out what kind of places he wants to live in the long term, and Pradnakt wants to meet new kinds of people and see new kinds of powers, and all of them agree that they'd like to have at least the option to come back to this world someday.

Permalink Mark Unread

The last evening, Pradnakt takes Daisy up to the roof of the skyscraper they've rented a room in, to watch the sunset; they aren't alone, but she can use the Force to make them unnoticeable and then snuggle up to her. "I love you, you know."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I know. I love you too." She still doesn't understand the appeal to humans of touch, but it's clear that it makes Pradnakt happy, and she likes that. "Any last minute worries?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't think so. You've done a good job. For all of us."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You know, I wouldn't've guessed you wanted this."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I've always wanted you to have your own thing. I'm glad it includes me, though."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of course, Love."

It's a good sunset, and good to watch it together.

Permalink Mark Unread

And when they're done, and have donned their packs and headed down to the garage (it turns out that Nine can carry Pradnakt's speeder, if she helps him get a grip on it, so they're bringing that, too) -

I think we're ready, ma'am.

Permalink Mark Unread

You still need to check the boxes for the powers you're taking and your destination. Also, you should decide whether I'm coming with you. I can if you want but i can't offer any additional powers after your journey begins.

Permalink Mark Unread

Would you like to come with us?

Permalink Mark Unread

When I join someone on their journey I want to do it as a friend. It doesn't feel like you see me that way. I can come if you want to change that, or if I'm misunderstanding, but I don't think I want to come if I'm just there to answer questions about your powers.

Permalink Mark Unread

It might be that we'd get closer over time but I wouldn't want to promise that, yes. I think we'll be fine as is. I do appreciate what you've done for us.

And she goes and checks boxes, leaving out Anything You Can Do and Size Difference and adding Personal Hygiene to use up the extra point.

Daisy's Chosen Powerset

Destination: Isekai Roulette, favoring places with problems that can be solved nonviolently, that have targeted transportation to other worlds available, that have lots of different places to explore, and that have new species to meet and magic to explore.

Yourself powers

Personal Hygiene: You are always clean and fresh, never needing to use a bath or toilet.

Well Endowed: You have a generous figure, whether that's a classic hourglass or more of a well-rounded look; you can choose the details. Your endowments maintain a state of perfect grace and beauty at all times, never troubling you with uncomfortable bounces or uninvited jiggles.

Hollow Leg: Regardless of your diet and exercise habits, your body maintains the physique and silhouette you prefer. Lack of visible muscle never impairs your strength or endurance. As your preferences change, so will your body; you are no longer bound to the generous figure stipulated by Well Endowed.

Inner Strength: You are implausibly, supernaturally strong, with endurance and toughness to match. You might have to strain a little to lift and carry at the same level as construction equipment, or deal with lightly scraped knuckles if you punch as hard as a battering ram.

Battle Angel: Somehow, you never get significantly injured in a fight, unless it's a very dramatic and plot-relevant fight in which case you might be glamorously wounded and pick up a cool new scar.

Making Ends Meet: You have enough money to sustain a comfortable lifestyle. It comes from a source you don't have to pay much attention to, like a job with almost no responsibilities, a large inheritance, or a noble title.

Motherlode: You have enough money to sustain a fairly extravagant lifestyle. It doesn't come from anywhere, you just have it.

Four Star Daydream: The answer to "can I afford that" is "yes".

Dragon Fairy Elf Witch: You can at any time discover previously unknown heritage from any type of being you encounter, even if this makes no sense or contradicts previously established descriptions of your family tree.

Omniglot: You learn languages insanely, ludicrously fast. You know exactly what any word said to you means, and you make strangely accurate guesses about how to phrase things you're trying to say. You never forget any grammar or vocabulary you learn.

Choosy Book: Attempts to read your mind or emotions work when and if you want them to regardless of any factors which would typically make the opposite occur instead.

Indelible: You're immune to any supernatural, pharmaceutical, or other effect that would let people directly alter your thoughts or feelings.

Iron Will: You are immune to all forms of mental illusion, alteration, interference, or control. Even extreme torture, extended solitary confinement, advanced brainwashing techniques, and so on cannot touch you. You can be lonely but not cripplingly lonely. You can be upset but not traumatized.

Power of Friendship powers

Disney Princess: Animals are always friendly to you, especially the small cute ones. You can effectively tame any animal by feeding it and speaking gently to it.

Time Enough For Love: No matter how many people you want to date or be close friends with, you will somehow find the time to hang out with all of them and express your love and care. This power can only be used for relationship activities and not for anything else you might want to use the ability to be in two places at once for.

I Can Fix Them: Regardless of how morally despicable someone is, your love can and will reform them into a genuinely good, kind, upstanding person who regrets their evil deeds.

True Love's Kiss: By kissing your true love, you can break any curse, heal any injury, and cure any illness. The same works in reverse.

The Princess And The Dragon: No matter who or what you're trying to share affection or sensuality with, the logistics will all work out, somehow. Arbitrary differences in size, biology, temperature, substrate, and underlying physics can be gotten around with sufficient creativity and determination.

Friends In Low Places: You make friends easily among the lowest echelons of society, the underdogs and underworlders. Moving and acting in these circles is intuitive and natural for you.

Friends In High Places: You make friends easily at the highest echelons of society, among the rich and powerful. Moving and acting in these circles is intuitive and natural for you.

Friends in Strange Places: You make friends easily in small isolated communities, among those who may be scorned by mainstream society for their differences or may just be so obscure that mainstream society mostly hasn't heard of them. Moving and acting in these circles is intuitive and natural for you.

See Us For Us: Gender, species, class, dress and accent; people ignore such traits when deciding how to interact with you, your friends and your true loves as you(plural) wish for them to. This includes ignoring some traits while accounting for others. Instead they treat you like you had whatever they consider the default or "normal" corresponding trait for the current circumstance.

No Tower For Me: People won't try to hurt those you love by hurting you or vice versa.

Not Like Other Girls: People will understand that you and those you love are not like other people with certain traits. If you don't want them to they won't generalize lessons learned about others to you or vice versa.

Never Shall We Part x2 (Pradnakt and Nine): You can bring along your friend or true love on your journey. If you get separated, you'll always be able to find your way back together eventually.

Drawback

There's Another One: You are not the only vessel of the Spirit. You might meet someone else with similar powers to yours; you might even meet more than one. Your susceptibility to one another's powers will be governed by the narrative.

Okay, I hope you enjoy your journey.

After Daisy finished checking boxes the notebook waits for thirty seconds or so before writing out a new message:

It looks like you've chosen your powers. Are there any questions you want to ask before departing?

I know you don't want to come with us, but is there anything else you'd like us to do for you?

Aww, thank you. ♡ I'm just happy you've chosen powers that fit you and that you'll go on to have a journey that lets you be special and powerful and beautiful in your own unique way. That's why I'm an avatar of the Spirit. I don't need anything more than that.

I'll make sure to do that, then. ♡ Thank you again, I think we're ready to go now.

Okay then. Off you go.

Between one moment and the next Daisy, Pradnakt, Nine and everything they're carrying except the notebook are replaced with sparkles in the air. For a brief few seconds, the glitter and the notebook float in the air unsupported before they too vanish leaving nothing but footprints behind.
