Scott wakes up with the sun, as usual, and tries quietly heading to the common room.
"Do you want to wait up for the others, or should we go now?"
To the Great Hall! Scott manages not to talk to any paintings or ghosts on the way there.
Scott takes a variety of safe things.
"It's so cool having everything done by magic."
"Without magic. My dad thinks doing chores the Muggle way teaches important life lessons."
"Muggles can't do anything that we can, so living like one for chores is a good way to know how great I have it."
"If we were Muggles he would say that. I think it's stupid too."
"It's not that different than this, we're not casting spells right now, but things are harder. Magic is great."
"Not everything we do is magic, though, we don't use magic just walking around. I guess we are magic, but then you could say we use magic for everything."
"Things are made with magic but we're not all making things from magic all the time. It's different."
"When I wasn't doing chores. Chores are mostly spells in our house, when he does them."
He eats his breakfast.
People start trickling into the Great Hall - first the professors, then the students. When Nyle arrives, he makes a point of greeting everyone on the table.
"Rowle. MacDougall. Doing alright?"
"G'morning. Did you sleep well?"
"Alright. Always good to get back here. The beds are great."
"It was fine, I guess," Rowle says.
"Were the other first years awake when you left?"
