Nerissa is kinda done with the whole being hunted and her brain being bashed in with a rock. And bashing their brains with a rock. So she's taking a vacation. She first convinces Noah to teach her how to fly a plane - Kai could have done it better, but she's not asking him for anything - and takes off for her much needed holiday in this empty world.

She crashes the plane somewhere out in the middle of the ocean and finds herself washed up a fucking desert island. She wonders how many times she drowned. Eh. It doesn't really matter. She's died enough times that she can't really feel it anymore.

Still. Desert island could be exciting. Time to explore. Hopefully, before the moon is fully out. Exploring and controlling the change would be a bit of a multitask.

There's a dark stone building mostly buried in the sand at the center, squat and somehow menacing, its exterior engraved with weathered scenes of slaughter by a shadowy figure.

One side seems to have a door, flanked by knotwork monsters, though how it's opened isn't obvious.

More creepy magic bullshit? Excellent.

The full moon has risen enough that she has a lot more strength then she did even half an hour before. And she'll just keep getting stronger. Nerissa doesn't bother looking for a way to open the door conventionally and starts kicking at it with supernaturally empowered bullshit.

Multiple points of fire bloom from the mouths of the knotwork monsters, enveloping her.

The stone door also shifts a few inches.

Well that just pisses her off. Her werewolf healing kicks in and she goes even harder at the door.

The door's guardians keep trying to set her on fire -

But she gets the door open.

Inside are stone stairs, going down into the dark.

Excellent. Nobody can stand against her badassery.

She jumps down the stairs, doesn't even bother walking them.

She falls a very long way, as the stairs turn out to turn in a square sort of spiral.

The ground, hundreds of feet below, is hard stone.

Probably she can just lie at the bottom while her spine heals. It's kind of an itchy feeling. Thankfully she can't actually feel anything right now.

She takes the opportunity to get a look at where she landed.

Square room made of dark stone, lit by the glowing eyes of engraved animals.

There are four doors, each with stone guardians flanking them. One is guarded by snakes. One is guarded by horses. One is guarded by lions. One is guarded by wolves. The engravings elsewhere consist of a mixture of the four fighting each other. The lion kills the snake; the wolves kill the lion and are killed by lionesses; the horse bears the bodies of the other animals; the snake bites the horse's heel.

It takes a few more minutes for her spine to heal enough for her to stand and wander closer.

She has a bit of a bias, and can't really be bothered with the whole riddle bullshit, so she picks the wolf door.

A tunnel, with tiles in grey, white, and black, ending in a T intersection. There's a stone wolf head directly ahead of her, mouth open.

Cute. She walks up to the stone wolf and pats its head fondly.

The wolf does not bite her!

Also, the two hallways branching off both seem to end in wolf heads, too. The one in front of her is grey; the one to the right is black; the one to the left is white.

Black is more her colour. She heads in that direction.

It's possible there's something in the wolf's mouth. Hard to tell, though.

Wolf vision activate!

The wolf has a glass sphere in its mouth, which contains - something swirly and hard to look at in its core. The sphere should be removable.

Well, it's not like she hasn't lost a hand before. She reaches in and grabs it, lightning quick.

The wolf, of course, bites down, jaws snapping together.

Nerissa's a hair faster, though.

She laughs and then pats the wolf. "Maybe next time, champ."

Then she takes a closer look at her prize.

It's about the size of a baseball. Clear glass. Something black is in the center, like smoke, swirling and roiling, reaching tendrils out through the sphere but never touching the edge.

Hmmmm. She crushes it in her palm.

It shatters! The shadow swirls within it, then rushes off down the hallway.

She chases after it, eager to see where it leads. Finally, this is getting interesting.

It flees into the main room, and then past the horse-guarded door. From there to a large bas relief of a horse, with three circles around it. The black shadow flows into the one in front of the horse, becoming a snarling wolf.
