It's the day of team assignments. Iruka's given his speech about their new lives, and is going down the list for this class. Their group of thirty will be teams one through ten, and, as the list drags on -
"And Team Seven will be Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Shikanou, and Arakan," he says.
Arakan looks around at his new team members. He knows them mostly by reputation, but that's enough to tell him that this will be interesting.
The girl on his team looks distinctly unimpressed.
The other boy on his team is excited, though grumbling about being with Shikanou (who he's sitting next to).
Naruto waves at Arakan.
Arakan grins at Naruto and waves back. Naruto seems to be the fun part of the interesting.
Once Iruka finishes, and tells them to dismiss for lunch (and come back in an hour to meet their new jounin-sensei), Naruto bounces up to Arakan. "High! We haven't really talked much I guess but being on a team's neat!"
Shikanou seems to have wandered over to say something to Shikamaru, but she heads back to the team when she sees Naruto approaching Arakan.
"Yeah! I'm super excited to finally be a ninja!" He turns to Shikanou when she walks towards them "Hey!"
"Hey yourself. We having a team meeting?"
"I haven't really talked with either of you before, figured I should know my team members a little before we start to work together!" He seems irrepressibly cheery at present.
"Sure. Whatever."
"That sounds fun! Wanna go hang out in the park?"
"Yeah!" He jumps up from his seat to follow Naruto.
Onwards to the park!
Naruto flops on the dirt, grinning, not really bothered by getting clover and dirt stains on his jumpsuit. They wash well anyways.
"So! Uh I don't know how to do intros?"
Rather than flopping onto the ground, Akaran will find the nearest tree and climb up into it. "Hi! I'm Akaran! I'm super excited to be a ninja, and I hate being inside!" Did Shikanou follow them?
She did. "I'm Shikanou. Being a ninja sucks but so does everything else. I like reading and hate pretentious assholes."
"I'm Naruto! Being a ninja is cool. I like ramen and hate waiting!"
"I dunno, I don't think even most things suck! Reading is pretty fun, it's like going for adventures but without doing anything! Ramen is great!" He has now swung himself to be hanging out of the tree by his knees, which he only manages for a minute before falling out of the tree.
"I like mystery novels. The well written ones that aren't all obvious," she says after a moment.
He pulls himself into a sitting position from the tangle he had fallen into. "You should suggest some to me sometime! I'll try almost anything once! And maybe I'll like them too!"
"Alright. I'll bring one I like to training or whatever tomorrow."
