The sun goes down. Rest your head.
Felix in Beacon Hills post season 3A
Permalink Mark Unread

Felix wanders around the housing complex without any aim or purpose. As long... he isn't in an empty house, even a dark building full of strangers is better than that.

So he walks around, nearly everyone is asleep and those that are not have their doors closed.

Felix feels he shouldn't focus so much in his purposeless suffering, when every single so here has to face a world where they're copies of people. He feels bad for even comparing the two sufferings.

But he is so tired and sleep is not actually rest for his head.

Permalink Mark Unread

He's not the only insomniac tonight.

This kid is wandering the complex, mostly kicking rocks, watching them scatter with some focus.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah, hello, Sky?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, hey, Felix. Are you okay?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes..." Felix says and is so insencere that he immediately amends, "no, can't sleep. How about you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Looks like it's going around. I can't sleep either. How have you been doing?"

Permalink Mark Unread

He shrugs helplessly. "After talking to you, I found out that I have the ability to understand and speak any language and have no idea why and interfered with the life of a werecoyote."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Right, of course. Why would you do anything boring? Did you help them? The werecoyote?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"...Mixed results. She turned back in human form and wasn't able to go back into coyote, so I'm helping her with food and other necessities until she learns to shift back."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you think that's a good idea? Helping her shift back?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Can't say it is a lifestyle choice I would pick, but it isn't one I can oppose enough to outright tell her 'no, stay human'. Why?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"How long has she been a coyote? Is there a way to find out where she came from?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not sure how long, but her name is Malia and she looks around our age."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Before you send her back, see if she remembers her past. She must have been human, once. She's a shapeshifter."

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix nods and smiles. "Good idea. I think... I'm not sure if friendly is the right word, but she might be inclined to answer if I ask."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of course she will. I'd definitely give you a ten out of ten in rescuing."

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix snorts. "I try!"

Then he takes a step forward and stops.

"Uh... can I hug you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you want. Yeah."

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix does, the winged hugs remain warm and soft. Felix melts a bit into it.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm sorry you're stuck with us. I wish you could be back home, or wherever it is you actually want to be."

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix quietly nods, still hugging.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Would it help to have someone to talk to?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes, please. I just... I am so lonely."

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh is it time for more hug?

Looks like it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Time for more hug: courtesy of how messed up this world is and a even bigger heap over the crushing existential fact that even the stars in the sky aren't the ones he is used to.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm here to help, okay? Whatever you need."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thank you." Felix says softly. "Me too you, if you need it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't know any way to get you home yet. But we have magic here. I can try learning some, see if I can get anywhere."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thank you, I appreciate it. It isn't likely I must be very far away."

Felix sighs.

"Do you know what sorts of things the local magic can do? Could it disguise my wings? I already miss being able to just... be in public."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Local magic isn't really very good, but I can focus on it, get to a point where I can do more. I think hiding the wings would be easy if you were into blood sacrifice, it's just harder for people with scruples."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Blood sacrifice?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Pile up enough bodies next to a tree, big stuff happens."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Wow. Okay, I don't hate being lonely enough that I will kill people. But I do wonder if there is way to teach with the 'enough bodies' aspect if the bodies were never alive in the first place?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Can you make them alive but not people? I know I said bodies, but spilling blood on the roots is the main thing."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I could make them alive but seriously brain-damaged. Not sure if it counts."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not sure that's the same. I don't want to kill people for this, and making someone just to kill them...we can do it, if you have good healing magic. Do you have healing magic?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No really, no. And this line of thinking is probably not going to be worth the trouble," he fidgets.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I've been wondering, actually, am I different from other people because of how I started? Do I still run on regular human biology or...dream biology?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Scott would be the one to know for certain, but given that they can leave the dimension, odds are that you run on regular human biology, the magic does tries to be efficient. You might have some magical traits."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We just need a werewolf and someone who has healing magic; between them, they can get enough blood without killing anyone."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ooooh, my world does have a system of magic that does healing, but it is..." Felix waves, "hard to learn, both in terms of effort and due to the fact that it is only shared with few people."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll have to get cracking on the local magic, then. Do you want to help me?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure. I am actually considering exploring my world's witchcraft now, mostly because I can here without being afraid a witch-queen is going to come and obliterate everything in a three city-block radius, and there might be some shortcuts and even if it doesn't it can get really powerful."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Was that a big problem back home?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, it wasn't big in the sense it was common, but it was big in the sense that the reason it wasn't common is the absolute certain witch-queens' ability to catch people that get their secrets without permission."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think our magic is secret because it's not that good and it goes with the werewolf secret, but I'll see if I can find signs of a witch-queen conspiracy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I mean the fact that witch-queens exist is well known, if anything they love the attention, is just the details of how they can do magic that is kept secret aside from the broad strokes. Granted, we should check just in case it is the same system somehow, no reason why it couldn't be."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It sounds different, but just to be safe, yeah. Do you want to meet the local druid? He'll probably be willing to help."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I've met Deaton, and also someone that the Argents know, but didn't discuss the local magic besides the fact that mountain ash doesn't work on me and that I didn't had any gaps in my memory."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The Argents know a druid? That they get along with? Kind of weird...but I think meeting Deaton with me would be better, he's always a little vague and mysterious with new people."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, I forgot her name and they get along well enough to call her for help. Vague and mysterious describes Deaton well enough, I would apreciate knowing more, thank you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Whenever you're ready. We can collect the cowardly lion and the scarecrow on our way out."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't mind going there first thing in the morning, tin man. As long Dorothy gets his beauty sleep."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I would never get between a man and his bed. Have a good night."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hey, don't diss being between a man and his bed. But good night."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sweet dreams."

He heads back.

Permalink Mark Unread

And so does Felix, that conversation was soothing enough that he manages to get to bed and sleep.

The next day - not too early because he was up late - he and Sky will meet Deaton as planned?

Permalink Mark Unread

Yup! They can meet up and head out without further ado.

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix does have to go through the rigmarole of creating enough fog to avoid being seen in the distance and then donning that uncomfortable trench-coat.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, after that, they're ready to go.

Permalink Mark Unread

Off to see the wizard they go.

Permalink Mark Unread

Are they allowed in the Emerald city? Are they going to pick behind the curtain? Is that a horse of a different color?

Permalink Mark Unread

Someone comes to the door, at least.

"Stiles and Felix, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I go by 'Sky', thanks to this one. I'm the extra Stilinski."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We were curious about how the local magic works. If there are exploits my power can achieve. Ideally if there is anything to disguise my wings so I can, you know, walk on the street like a normal person."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Powerful illusions and shapeshifting relies on sacrificial rituals. If you aren't, understandably, interested in killing multiple people, there isn't much that will cover wings. What can your magic do?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"We were wondering if we could bypass the sacrifice part somehow, ideally with conjured dead bodies. My world has a kind of magic that is very versatile, but hard to learn. It does healing and various forms of disguising, but it is hard to learn."

Permalink Mark Unread

"What makes it so difficult?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix shrugs helplessly. "Little is public known about it, because the people who know all the secrets - the witch-queens - keep it to themselves and only share it with people that can be trusted, and squish anyone that isn't supposed to know."

Permalink Mark Unread

"But you know more than you should? Or do you think we have an advantage there?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No, not yet, but I  was thinking of ways to exploit both system if we can do it ethically."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. Tell us what you know about your system."

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky listens eagerly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix explains witchcraft, as disclosed before he doesn't actually know how to use - but should be able to conjure the relevant information - but he knows the capabilities and limitations. The main limitation is that witchcraft requires a magical power source that can only be acquired from the ambient energy of a pocket dimension. And even then the witchcraft user needs to charge in a specially designed place and be mindful of how much energy they are spending.

Otherwise, witchcraft is pretty damn versatile, by Felix's account Witch-queens can basically do anything: healing, vast amounts of destructive energy, shielding, animating objects, illusions and many other things. Apparently the only way to defeat one is using long range guerrila tactics for a long time until the Witch-queen energies are too low for them to defend themselves.

Permalink Mark Unread

"So to find out if it works here, we just need a pocket dimension?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, yes and do the other steps, but we can set those up too. Any reason to think that could wrong, Doctor?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Explain how these dimensions interact with your own, typically."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Would the concept of sharing coordinates in three dimensions while being distant in the fourth dimension help? One explanation we would get in school is comparing to floors in a building, two people can 'share' the same place in different floors without interacting. Similarly, two people - one on Earth and one on a pocket dimension - can be at the same latitude, longitude and height and not affect each other at all. In general pocket dimensions only affect other places through portals - which are compared to elevators in the building analogy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"There's a place in town that was traditionally very magically powerful. Would turning that into a center for witchcraft have any effects, good or otherwise? Given what you know."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Is that the tree that was screaming when I arrived in this universe? I would need to know more it, witchcraft power sources feed off ambient energy so that could work. There might be witchcraft ways to find out."

Permalink Mark Unread

"...Screaming? I don't think the Nemeton screams, but I can't imagine that could have been anything else. Would it be easier to take you there?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Screaming so loudly that I was surprised other people couldn't hear. And there was some weird weather too, which was going in the direction of Scott's house for some reason."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The Nemeton is a grove, sacred to druids. According to historians. I'd be inclined to call it a place of power. Regardless, until recently it was rather dwindled, due to most of the trees being cut down. It's recently been revitalized."

Permalink Mark Unread

"What did they do?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"A ritual to save their parents. Symbolic self-sacrifice. Very powerful stuff."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Any idea what else we should expect from the place besides screaming and weird weather? Should we be worried about an animal uprising or something?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's an unusual set of symptoms unless it was trying to get your attention. It'll probably be quieter if we approach it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It was going towards Scott, which might be related to the dreamshard?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It wouldn't surprise me if the Nemeton was attracted to foreign magic, especially since Scott was involved with it. I can take you to the Nemeton and see if it finds you fascinating as I expect."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure, what happens if it finds me fascinating?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not entirely sure, but it should let us leverage it as a power source."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay I'm curious. Do you need anything before we go?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think I'm alright. Good luck."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Are we ready?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am. I can follow your car by flight."

Permalink Mark Unread

They go.

And eventually, they come to the woods.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Time to talk to the tree."

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, is the tree saying anything? Or rather screaming anything at the moment?

Permalink Mark Unread

The tree is currently silent.

He can feel a hum of energy, coming from all around the clearing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix reports this. Does the hum gets stronger if he gets closer to the tree stump?

Permalink Mark Unread

No, but he sees an image in his mind.

Fireflies, circling the stump, on a starless night.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I just had a vision. Is it normal to give people visions?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I wouldn't say anything is normal. Was it clarifying? Did it seem connected to anything? Or was it more abstract and symbolic?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It was just fireflies flying around the stump, it was night and there are no stars in the sky. It sounds symbolic, but for all I know is the magic tree equivalent of a greeting."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I have no idea what the could mean. I'll research it later. Anything else from the Nemeton?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Just an image of him watering the stump.

Permalink Mark Unread

"...Just sent me an image of myself watering it. Should we... try talk with the stump and see if it reacts? Maybe it just reacted to your question."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Are you the tree whisperer? You would know by now, right?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"The Nemeton picks favorites. This could work in our favor. Try staying, try talking."

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix snorts. "I don't even know. I haven't tried talking to plants yet. Should I water it?" Felix says waving a hand for effect, a cloud forms above the Nemeton.

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's sweet. The half-dead magical grove just wants some magical weather."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Try it," he agrees.

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix giggles at Sky's comment and start raining down the magical tree stump. "How are you feeling?" He is using his translation magic on purpose in case that helps.

Permalink Mark Unread

...The tree can't actually communicate in words. It sends him a picture of a grove of trees where Scott, Allison, Stiles and Felix are hanging out.

Permalink Mark Unread

"It just send me a picture of Scott, Allison, Stiles and myself around here." Felix reports. "I'm assuming this means you're okay." Felix asks the stump again, feeling slightly less ridiculous about it since it can communicate back. Felix is sadly limited by words instead of pictures. "Unless that was meant to convey that you need them in here too?"

Permalink Mark Unread

The stump does not seem to have more to say.

Permalink Mark Unread

It was an unusually talkative tree stump already. Felix reports it didn't react to his question.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Your...vision...does suggest it wants all of you there. We should consider trying it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I see, but why? Any idea of what could happen?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, I'm not sure why we should cater to the telepathic magic tree stump."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We know the Nemeton affected Scott, Stiles, and Allison a great deal. If it wants them nearby, it might help with the visions they've been experiencing."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It sent weird weather towards Scott's house, maybe it can send worse things if not appeased." Felix tells Stiles. "Dr. Deaton, how bad are the visions? Maybe we can bring one of them here?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"They haven't shared all the details. They're very personalized, and until now, I didn't suspect the Nemeton was sending them. I suppose if it's as intelligent as it seems, it could have been trying to communicate."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Uh, how does a place like this even... happen?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Druids performed magic in this grove for centuries. It became a place of great power. Eventually, the trees were cut down, but this tree stump regained some of its old power after blood was spilled on its roots. The recent ritual Scott and his friends performed only added more power."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Is that the only way to get magic back?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sacrificial rituals are one of the most effective kinds of magic, but the Nemeton could be empowered by anything that helps trees grow, which is why it showed you all of the people it favors watering it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hypothetically speaking, what happens if we do through the difficult job of transplanting a tree into this place?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Part of the problem, I'm afraid, is that other trees will have less magical energy stored than the trees that once stood here. If the Nemeton could somehow be healed, we would stand a better chance."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Better chance against what?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Everything. Beacon Hills will have plenty of things to deal with, now that the Nemeton is drawing supernatural creatures here. We have a family of wendigos, recently dealt with a dark druid, and a pack of alphas."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yikes." Felix says then he blinks. "Uh... Scott's dimension have a Nemeton-like place too."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Does it? I wonder if he could turn it into a place of power..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Should we worry it could attract even more weirdness?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not sure. If it's within his dimension, it shouldn't be able to attract weirdness in ours, I think. Do they have...locations, here? Could you use technology to navigate from here to a point inside Scott's dimension?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No really, no. Locations between dimensions have correspondences, but don't really influence each other except when portals are involved. I was thinking that maybe the portals to Scott's dimension might be enough to let the Nemeton signal to pass through."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Could be. I'm not clear on how it summons them, unless it uses the same wavelength as banshees...do the portals stop sound from coming through, or light?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Portals don't stop light nor sound - we can transmit radio signals through them and various forms of magic tend to pass through too."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Scott will still retain control over that dimension, though? That should keep the danger to a minimum."

Permalink Mark Unread

"True... also, if his dimension already has made one Nemeton it might do others."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That sounds useful or horrifying."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We'll have to keep that in mind. Alright. Should we gather everyone in Scott's dimension?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Agreed," Felix says to both statements.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll gather the others. You two come up with a plan of attack."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. Let's go, Sky?"

Permalink Mark Unread

He nods.

Into the car they go.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Any ideas for the plan of attack?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It sounds like we can just give it the people it wants and redeem cool prizes. Might as well try that first."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I confess that the whole blood sacrifice thing is unsettling... it might be a good idea not expose Scott to it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, that makes sense. I don't think those three can handle anything on their own."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I was speaking more about the fact that Scott is a dreamshaper that might or might not create more nemetons, lacking any more information that sounds like the most likely source of a nemeton-apocalypse or something."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you think he's more likely to make some if he knows?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think if he needs to know the danger, because he might do it by accident or maybe be manipulated by someone into doing it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. Sounds like a plan. So what's our goal here? If it likes blood sacrifice, we should probably find ways to satisfy it before someone else tries, right? Kind of like you always try animal blood first if you're a vampire?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes, great idea. I think our nemeton-related goals are: to assess the level of danger; guard it from people; guard people from it; and use it as a resource. In no particular order. Even if we can't use the magic ourselves maybe we can benefit from the fact that it attracts supernaturals to a known location."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Right. We should find out if I can use magic, I think most regular humans can, but that might only include people who were...properly born here, or something. And you too, but you're from further away and also have wings, so I'm not sure if that works. Everything else, besides feeding it, should probably come later."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mountain ash doesn't work on me, so I might be able to use the local magic. Granted, maybe that is a property of werewolves instead of mountain ash and I still could be blocked from using it directly."

Permalink Mark Unread

He nods.

They drive.

"Hey Felix? Are you doing okay? I mean, I know you've got a lot on your plate, I just...how are you doing?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Being useful helps. How about you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I've got a mission, as long as I can do that I'm good."

Drive drive drive.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can understand that." Felix says earnestly.

Some driving, not that much of driving, but some and once Sky stops the car. "Uh... would you like a hug?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Hug.

"Thanks. I know you didn't want to be here, but I'm glad you are."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That... helps a lot, actually."

Permalink Mark Unread

...

He pats Felix's shoulder awkwardly.

And with that, they're off to meet their party.

Permalink Mark Unread

The shoulder pats are appreciated. Where is their party?

Permalink Mark Unread

Currently in pieces, it would seem.

Here's Allison's house.

Permalink Mark Unread

He knocks somewhat impatiently.

Permalink Mark Unread

And here's Allison.

"Stiles, I'm not really I'm the mood."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not Stiles. I'm the new, much hotter one."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Right. Sorry. Come on in."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hello, again Allison, are we interrupting something?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No, what's up?"

She leads them to the living room.

"Should I get you something to eat?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"We just need you, Scott, and Stiles together."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not hungry, but thank you. And something Nemeton related happened."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You need all three of us there?"

She puts her hands in her pockets, shifting on her feet.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, the tree wants you to hang out with it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It sent me a weird telepathic vision thing that showed us you, me, Scott and Stiles there."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Are we planning on giving it what it wants?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Probably, yeah. Why wouldn't we, it's a perfectly friendly tree."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It likes blood sacrifice."

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrug.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm mostly in favor of investigating it and debating our options. Possible test what happens when a not-Scott person interacts with it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't know if I want to go to it. The dreams are bad enough when I'm this far away."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I understand, would you like to talk about them or are they too personal?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Kind of personal. If you want us all to go there, we will, but not without a better plan than 'try and see'."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fair. And I want to investigate things, but this doesn't mean I want to bring everyone there at once. I did mention that I didn't want Scott there. I only trust myself there because I don't have to fear a bullet to the skull as problem-solving method."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay. But you want me and Stiles there?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, one of you, but only after we did some more research on the nemeton and, obviously, as a volunteer. Ideally we would take one of you there, see how the nemeton reacts, take that person back, put them under whatever observation we can give and figure out the next step afterwards. You could say I don't so much as want you there as I want to figure out what is going on and that does involve poking things that I admit aren't completely safe."

Permalink Mark Unread

She doesn't respond. She looks distracted by something.

Her hand starts to shake.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Allison?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Doesn't look like she's listening.

Permalink Mark Unread

"What's happening? What are we supposed to do?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Let's try not to startle her. Is her dad home? Get him. I'll watch her."

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky attempts to retrieve her father.

Permalink Mark Unread

She jumps forward, grabbing his arm, hissing.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sky... don't make sudden movements. Allison? Let him go."

Permalink Mark Unread

Yeah, that's a knife in his side.

Permalink Mark Unread

The commotion attracts her father.

He pulls out a gun.

"Allison?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix pulls away covering the wound with a hand, then he uses a wing to push Allison away.

It should be noted that wings are very strong, that is going to leave a bruise.

Not that Felix is in better condition. "Fuck!" He hisses.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You are not shooting him."

Sky steps between Mr. Argent and Felix.

Permalink Mark Unread

But he isn't.

He points the gun at his daughter.

"Allison. Come back to us."

Permalink Mark Unread

"...Daddy?"

She balls her hands into fists, knife dropping to the ground, and punches Felix, shrieking.

Permalink Mark Unread

Fine! If she wants to punch anyone then Felix is the obvious best choice, he tries to immobilize her hands and wrestle her down.

Permalink Mark Unread

He shoots.

That hole in the wall is really going to be hard to explain.

Permalink Mark Unread

Allison stops struggling.

"Um. Felix? What's going on?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix opens his mouth and ends up coughing up blood all over her. He stops holding her down, instead keeping himself between Allison and her father.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Are you alright?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She steps around Felix towards her father.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, thank you Allison, in honor of your consideration Felix will lay down for a bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky kneels down next to Felix, away from the crazy family.

"Do you need actual medical care or magic, what can I do?"

He pulls out his phone.

Permalink Mark Unread

"He's just been stabbed, he needs medical care."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Already calling."

He holds Felix's hand.

"Ms. McCall? I'm going to need your help. Uh, no, nothing supernatural. Knife wound. Yeah, I know. Thanks."

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix holds Sky's hand.

"Thank you," He tries to calm himself down a bit, "would it be too morbid to..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"No," he answers easily.

"Tell me what to do."

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix coughs more blood, he feels lightheaded, "I should've got a cyanide pill, I just need it to be painless and then..." coughing, "one week and I'll be fine," cough, "will even be able to talk."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Here."

He hands something to Sky.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky examines the pill.

"Cyanide?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Every hunter has one, in case of emergencies."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Right."

He squeezes Felix's hand.

"Are you sure?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix nods. "I will fine," he tries a smile that would've been way more reassuring without the dripping from his mouth.

Permalink Mark Unread

He feeds Felix the pill.

Permalink Mark Unread

And the pill works, Felix's body expires.

And in a hidden nook of Felix's pocket dimension, a new body starts to form immediately, not that anyone in the room would be able to see that.

Permalink Mark Unread

Allison clings to her father.

Permalink Mark Unread

He clings back.

Permalink Mark Unread

"...Any idea what to do with the body?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"We have a cemetery. If he doesn't need this one, we'll have a quiet funeral."

Permalink Mark Unread

So Sky talks to Mr. Argent, and goes back to his complex.

He calls Dr. Deaton, reassures him that everything is fine, but they might have to wait for the Nemeton business, and sleeps.

Permalink Mark Unread

Who would think being dead would be so boring? But it totally is! Felix can't even passe! All his sensory input is related to dreamshaping, he is not even sure how long it has been, except "likely not a day".

Urgh.

He creates a robot drone that flies to Sky's bedroom and leaves a tablet and a note explaining everything and that Felix can create radio signals and talk one-way to them, but he can't hear them.

Permalink Mark Unread

However Sky feels about this, Felix doesn't really have a chance to find out.

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix isn't alone, though.

He feels a familiar presence.

For once, it seems to be asking permission.

Does he want it to show him what's happening?

Permalink Mark Unread

It's funny how much Felix expects to do things like blinking, despite not having an actual body to blink.

But okay, show me what you got Nemeton.

Permalink Mark Unread

A conversation...

"We are not crazy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hallucinating, sleep paralysis...Yeah, you guys are fine."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We did die and come back to life. That's gotta have some side effects, right?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"We keep an eye on each other. Okay? And Lydia, stop enjoying this so much."

Permalink Mark Unread

A conversation...

Permalink Mark Unread

"Scott, you can't transform, Allison is seeing her dead aunt and I'm flat out losing my mind. We can't do this. We can't help Malia. We can't help anyone."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can try. We can always try."

Permalink Mark Unread

What? What is going on? Is everyone alright?

Permalink Mark Unread

The Nemeton can offer no solace.

Permalink Mark Unread

A conversation...

"I don't- I don't understand."

Permalink Mark Unread

A brief pause, and then a voice.

"Not 'who are you', Stiles. Who are we?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Wait, what? Where is that voice coming from? Sky?

Permalink Mark Unread

It certainly doesn't sound like him.

Much deeper, and amused.

Stiles groans in pain, and the voice continues:

"It's getting colder, Stiles. Did you notice that we've stopped shivering? Do you know why that's a bad sign?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's the body trying to conserve energy. It was my fifth grade science report."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hypothermia. Our speech is starting to thicken. Then comes fatigue. Confusion. We're going to die if we don't get out of here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Stop saying that. Stop saying 'we'."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We're just trying to keep you from freezing to death. You better get up, Stiles."

Permalink Mark Unread

"How? There's a freaking steel-jawed trap on my leg!"

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix sees Stiles, in a cold, damp room.

Alone, with no trap in sight.

Permalink Mark Unread

What the fuck. What the fuck. Felix needs to help, he creates radio signals and sends messages.

But he can't know what is going on this way. He doesn't even know what the fuck happened. He is stuck here, while his new body is growing...

Okay, that might be a stupid idea.

He can create things, maybe he can create things, he can't create people with specific memories, but that shouldn't mean he can't create a new body to himself, faster than his fountain would.

After a few tests, Felix determines that he can in fact create tiny bodies that his fountain will recognize as his own. None of those were viable, but each one was recognized as him. So he will create a new one to himself and hope it works...

The body is created, Felix can feel the connection leap and reach it and- PAIN! He was supposed to feel pain without a body! But... no, this isn't exactly pain, there is something about himself that is... splitting in half.

Permalink Mark Unread

And He wakes up.

He isn't Felix.

But he knows what Felix was trying to do and he knows Stiles needs help. So he stands up from the bed and leaves the cottage Felix created around this body.

He flies and searches for Sky, or Scott, or anyone, really.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky is easy to find. He's in a graveyard.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, that is ominious. "Sky? Stiles?" Says the young man that looks just like Felix, "Is everything alright? The nemeton showed things going down hill."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Felix. You're back? Um, it- Stiles disappeared. Everyone is looking for him."

Sky returns to examining the headstone.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am not Felix, he was receiving visions from the Nemeton and tried to give himself a new body faster, instead he created me."

What is up with the headstone?

Permalink Mark Unread

The name "Claudia Stilinski" is presumably a hint.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Right."

He wraps his arms around himself, shuddering.

"How do you like being alive?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"...Haven't thought about it yet."

Hug?

Permalink Mark Unread

Hug is good.

"Is he okay? Are you okay?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Hug!

"He should be safe, but he was worried - we should find the others - and I am fine. Maybe a bit disoriented but I'm okay."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay. I'll call them, we can be there right away."

He makes a call, and in a few minutes:

"We can meet them there, they already have a place they're checking."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good. Any idea of what is going on?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"How much do you know? Do you have any of Felix's memories?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I have most of his memories..." he describes what nemeton showed them while they go meet the others.

Permalink Mark Unread

"They've been hallucinating," he explains.

"Since they did the ritual to find their parents. Sleepwalking, nightmares...Allison almost shot someone while she was having one."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, I remember that she also stabbed Felix."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Right. Because that happened to Felix, and you remember everything that happened to him, is that right?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yup, I think I have some gaps, but that could be just regular human memory. But even thought I have all his memories... they don't feel my own? I definitely wouldn't react the way he did to certain things."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah? What things?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I would've flirted more and be less diplomatic. Outright told Scott that our uncle killed himself and that fucked up our parents to this day so Felix is very sensitive to the topic."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That would probably have stopped it, yeah. Want to go force them to make up? Or I guess we should save Stiles," he adds hastily.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, right. We should save Stiles. We can plan how to make Scott and Felix cooperate later."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod.

"I don't actually have a ride, though, I was planning on meeting up with the others later. I haven't been a social butterfly."

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, that will earn him a tight hug. "Sorry, I could try carrying you, but I should speed up and meet them. Later we will give you a nice ride though."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod.

"Scott said they're going to Eichen House. I don't actually think I can give directions, I have no idea where it is, but you can't miss it. Big, old building with huge metal gates."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah, I think I overflew it on my way here. Are you really going to be okay on your own?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll be fine," he says, waving his hand.

"Go, be the hero."

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor hugs him and the takes flight. Being a hero sounds like a good idea.

Permalink Mark Unread

He will eventually fly past a familiar building, with not-quite-forbidding-this-is-hardly-a-Gothic-horror-novel front gates.

Permalink Mark Unread

There are a few people outside, getting ready to go in.

Permalink Mark Unread

He will land near them if they are people he recognizes.

(Also, could this place be any more obviously ominous?)

Permalink Mark Unread

He probably recognizes Scott, anyway.

Permalink Mark Unread

The four of them head inside.

Permalink Mark Unread

Are they startled when the Felix-looking person lands nearby?

Permalink Mark Unread

Less startled, more angry.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Felix? Is that you?" he whispers.

Permalink Mark Unread

"The Nemeton sent more telephatic messages, showing the situation being dire. Felix tried to give himself a new body so he could help, instead it created me. Hi, I don't have a name to introduce myself with, yet."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you want one? Never mind, later. I'm Lydia, the boy is Aiden, the man is Sheriff Stilinski. How do you know Scott?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I told you about the dream dimension? That's Felix, he came to our world with the dream crystal."

He looks at the newcomer assessingly.

"What do you need? We were about to go inside."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am not Felix. And I came here to help," he makes sparks dance between his fingers, "in case you need more firepower."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Don't do anything like that until we ask you to, we don't need a brawl in the mental hospital."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Come along, but don't attack first. Even if someone looks threatening, don't start anything."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Don't start fights inside mental hospitals, got it, cutie," he winks at Aiden.

Permalink Mark Unread

"He's straight and taken, but he has a twin brother you can try later."

Without further ado, they go inside.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevors makes a mental note to check on Aiden's brother. He is wearing a trench-coat and follows them inside.

Permalink Mark Unread

The receptionist is relatively friendly! Which here means, prickly and suspicious.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hi. I'm with the Beacon Hills Police Department. We're looking into a disappearance, and we think someone may have gotten lost, and found their way into your basement."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I won't stop the Sheriff from looking around. I'll lead the way."

The corridors have very little in the way of color and decor. The building is mostly quiet, with only the occasional sound of patient whispering or crying to break the silence.

Permalink Mark Unread

He-without-a-name will follow everyone and be quiet, but will make note of the state of patients in case they are being mistreated.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's a bit difficult to note; none of them are out of their rooms this late at night.

They come to the door to the stairwell.

"I hope you find what you're looking for," the receptionist says, before turning back.

Permalink Mark Unread

The Sheriff steps in front of the others, and makes to go down first.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lydia walks past him, leading the way.

Permalink Mark Unread

She is cute and takes charge. Gosh, he-who-needs-a-name might be experiencing his first crush. He follows.

Permalink Mark Unread

All they find is a dark, damp, cold, empty basement.

Permalink Mark Unread

"No, no, I was sure he was here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's fine. We'll find him."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Maybe he left."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Should we check for signs of him? It looks pretty undusturbed."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You can come back later. Right now, we're finding my son."

He heads back upstairs without waiting for a response.

Permalink Mark Unread

"How long he has been gone?" He asks in a whisper to Scott.

Permalink Mark Unread

"A few hours. He called me, he said he sleepwalked somewhere, and he's scared for his life."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay, the Nemeton showed Stiles somewhere cold and damp, but I have no idea how recent that was. It also showed moments that are clearly days apart."

Permalink Mark Unread

"This isn't actually helping. We should be planning how to find him now, and we need everyone's heads together on that. Me and Scott can't find his scent, which means we have to move fast."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If he was here, and he didn't leave a scent, that can't be good, right? It sounds bad."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can hurry it along."

They head back outside.

Permalink Mark Unread

A cave...

Permalink Mark Unread

In the forest, a woman steps on crunching pine needles and tries not to think about the cold.

She approaches a familiar cave, formerly home to a coyote.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, great. Got contacted by the scary tree channel. I think I saw your mom, Scott, on the coyote-girl cave."

Permalink Mark Unread

"She's looking for Stiles too. Did she look safe?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"She looked cold, which..." there is a sudden warm breeze, "I can help a little but not a lot from this distance."

Permalink Mark Unread

An approach...

Permalink Mark Unread

The woman steps just barely into the cave, the darkness obscuring her for a moment-

Permalink Mark Unread

And kneels to the ground, catching the shaking, shivering boy in her arms.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Stiles is there! Your mother found stiles, Scott."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We should go there, make sure he's okay."

Permalink Mark Unread

"He's safe?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"He was cold and scared, but whole as far I could tell."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod.

"I'll be at the hospital with Scott, but the rest of you kids should go home."

Permalink Mark Unread

He puts an arm around Lydia.

"I'm glad he's okay. Sorry we couldn't help."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod. "Do you need me for anything, Scott?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No, you should- is there anything I can do, about Felix?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrug. "As far I know he is safe but worried because of the Nemeton vision... Oooh, next time when you sleep you could create tiny portals to his dimension and write words that way. Tell him the situation?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I will. I promise."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod. "We should talk. Later. Please keep me updated on how Stiles is doing. I am going back to Sky."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod.

"Thanks for your help. Thank Felix, too, I don't know if I'll be able to do the portals tonight."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure, do get in touch. I do want to talk to you."

And assuming Scott doesn't have much to add, he will take flight, think about names and search Sky.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky can be found at the complex, if the newest person in Beacon Hills thinks to check there.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, he-without-a-name-but-leaning-to-"Trevor" does think to check there. He wants to see how Sky is doing. Also his wings have changed and are now blue with lighting-like white patterns.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hey Oscar, what's up?"

Permalink Mark Unread

He explains what happened to Stiles. "But how are you doing?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Lonely, bored, paranoid. You?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"A bit worried about Felix, about you, about the scoobie gang. In that descending order. Nameless. I get lonely and bored, but why paranoid?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's how it goes. I'm a Stiles. Is Felix okay, I mean, besides uh, being kind of dead?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"He should be nervous because as far he knows Stiles and the others are in danger. But otherwise he should be fine."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Did the Nemeton not give a helpful 'They're all okay' vision?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't know? If it did it didn't give to me and I don't have like a psychic connection to him."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Right. You okay?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah. Weird first day of life, but I am surprisingly fine. I understand existential dread and identity crisis are reasonable responses, but not really my thing."

Permalink Mark Unread

"No, I have more than enough for both of us. I'm glad you're okay. Keep me posted?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of course. When I pick up a name you will be the first one to know."

Permalink Mark Unread

That seems to be that.

He probably doesn't want a hug.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Was that a dismissal? Also, how about a hug?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"You too, huh? Felix was pretty huggy, I'm kind of all hugged out. Thanks anyway."

Permalink Mark Unread

He snorts. "Yeah, I am weird for wanting to hug the cute boy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"..."

Yeah, that's a hug.

Permalink Mark Unread

He can't say he didn't needed that.

"Uh... Felix and I care about you, you know?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's nice. So what are you doing today?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrug. "No idea. Besides picking a name. I am tempted to go with 'Trevor', a skymage worlds war II hero."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't think I ever got a history lesson. Skymage world wars were, uh, just skymages?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sorry, I meant he was a skymage war hero that fought during the second worlds war. Plural worlds, because we refer to the combination of our Earth and the multiple pocket dimensions as worlds."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Why that one? What did he do?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh a bunch of stuff, but the relevant thing was a battle where he skill and tactics are so great that his opponents assumed there were three greater-lighting skymages around instead of just him. I think he helped liberate a couple of occupied towns too."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Aspirational. I'd probably go with a scientist over a war hero, but that's pretty cool."

Permalink Mark Unread

Scott goes home, talks to his mom, and retires to his room.

He makes a few portals for Felix.

How are you doing?

Permalink Mark Unread

!!!

Scott? Is everyone alright?

I am fine. What happened?

Permalink Mark Unread

I'm okay.

Stiles disappeared. He was sleepwalking. We don't know yet what's going on. He's going to be in the hospital until we figure it out.

There's someone who looks like you, remembers being you, no name yet. Apparently you were trying to do something and he happened instead.

Permalink Mark Unread

!!!

Is he okay?

Then the first part of the message is erased and is written as. Are they okay?

Permalink Mark Unread

Stiles is stressed. Your, uh, twin or clone seemed okay. I think he's with Sky now.

Permalink Mark Unread

Okay. Tell him he can have our my family last name.

Is the clone really okay? I didn't

Permalink Mark Unread

I can talk to him, if you want.

He seemed alright, so I thought he and Sky could keep each other company. They're not as close to the whole thing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Please do.

I can't believe I was so foolish and created life

Permalink Mark Unread

He seems okay. I think you should just talk to him, ask him what he wants from you.

Permalink Mark Unread

I can't. Unless he is a dreamshaper too? Is he? Is he a skymage?

Permalink Mark Unread

I think so. He- I was kind of distracted, but he offered to help. He flew to us, and he made some sparks, to show that he had firepower, if we needed it. We didn't, but I'm glad he offered.

Permalink Mark Unread

Okay. That is good.

Take care of him, if you can?

Permalink Mark Unread

We will.

Is there anything I can do for you?

Permalink Mark Unread

I don't know. Just take care of things for me?

Permalink Mark Unread

I will.

I'm sorry.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, they don't really have a lot else to do besides talking about the recent events.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, Scott doesn't really have much to say to Felix.

I'm kind of tired. I'll talk to you in the morning.

Good night.

Permalink Mark Unread

Good night.

Felix still has one-way communication to everyone else and creates radio waves to send himself an e-mail. In case his... sibling reads it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor does read. Some of it's worrisome, but expected.

He goes looking for Sky.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky is laying in bed, staring at the wall.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hi, Sky... do you mind if I join you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure, pull up a chair."

There are no chairs.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor gives him a look, and sits next to him on the bed. "How are you doing? Interesting wall?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's a wall. They always have a story to tell, so it's good when you're alone and can't sleep. Just read the wall."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Have you slept at all?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not today. Yesterday, I guess. Yesterday and today."

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor lays in bed with him, wing-hugs him.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yeah okay, wing-hugs.

"'M sorry. I don't want to distract you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Nah, I just came to see you. What do you have on your mind?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fake memories, I guess. My life didn't really happen. It's hard to accept."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes... Are they actually faked or copied?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"They seem pretty fake. Scott doesn't remember any of the things I do."

Permalink Mark Unread

Squeeze. "I am not psychiatrist, but... how do you feel about that?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't feel good about that. My dad, Scott, no one remembers anything. Just me. It wasn't real, and I don't, I don't know what to do."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fucking dreamshard," Trevor mutters, "do you know what you want?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not really. I liked talking to Felix. He was nice."

Permalink Mark Unread

"He is, and he cares about you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Tell me about you. How's being alive? Still good?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Still good. I just... have a lot of reason to hope, I guess? Eventually everything is going to be well," He snuggles Sky, "and in a sense I am glad that I am here to help you and Felix."

Permalink Mark Unread

Snuggles.

"We're going to figure this out. Get you guys back home, and stop Stiles from getting himself killed."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And then we will solve all the problems left to be solved."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If anyone can do it, it's you and Felix."

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor smiles and kisses Sky.

Permalink Mark Unread

!!!

Kisses.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kisses! So more snuggle. "So... how far do you want to go?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, I don't want to make this too easy. Kills all the tension, the suspense. Take your shirt off."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes, sir!" Trevor does that, he is fit.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky admires the view.

"How far do you want to go?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"All the way, as long you want it too."

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky examines the shirtless boy in his room.

His look is appraising.

"Not bad. I suppose we should thank Felix, though. Maybe when he gets out."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Maybe," Trevor agrees, "but then you should have a very thorough look," he adds before removing his pants.

Permalink Mark Unread

He looks.

And he touches, running his hands along Trevor's shoulders, down his chest...they linger there for a bit as he leans in for a kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Fuck this is hot. Trevor kisses back, and wing-hugs Sky again and makes noises.

Permalink Mark Unread

Good noises?

He kisses back, his hands moving lower, wrapping around Trevor's waist.

Permalink Mark Unread

Excellent noises. Trevor guides Sky's hands so his fingers are hooking the waistband of his underwear, then he pulls down...

Permalink Mark Unread

"I- wow. I don't even- that's just excessive."

Apparently it's time for more kisses.

Permalink Mark Unread

Naked wingful kisses!

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh good.

Sky's hand explores further down, and look at that!

He found his target. What happens if he does this?

Permalink Mark Unread

Happy squirming, combined with happy noises and Trevor's hands doing some wandering of their own.

Permalink Mark Unread

So much wandering today, Sky is feeling very adventurous.

He closes his eyes.

"Trevor..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hmm?" Trevor says a bit busy nibbling Sky's shoulder.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nope looks like he's just moaning Trevor's name.

He's becoming less coherent remarkably fast.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh. Trevor likes this reaction, maybe he can get less coherence by undoing Sky's pants and reaching inside...

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky seems to approve.

"Is Felix going...to be jealous? Or want to join in?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Pfft. I guess he never mentioned that he and Fenris dated the same guy at same time? I don't think jealousy is an emotion that Felix's feels."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's good."

No more qualms, it seems.

His hand continues to do its work.

Permalink Mark Unread

What amazing work. Trevor really likes it and he also would like to remove Sky's shirt.

Permalink Mark Unread

That's an option.

Sky doesn't seem to think much of that option.

How about he tries using his hand and his mouth?

Permalink Mark Unread

That is distracting! It also makes Trevor want to reciprocate.

Permalink Mark Unread

Reciprocation is approved!

"Oh jesus, holy mother Freya in the sky with diamonds!"

Permalink Mark Unread

That causes Trevor to giggle uncontrollably for a few seconds. "Do you want me to stop?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No, please..."

His mouth is abruptly busy again.

Permalink Mark Unread

In that case, Trevor's mouth will be busy as well.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky is only human.

It ends fairly quickly (and messily) after that.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor contributes to the mess. He finds some paper tissues to clean themselves up.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky does not seem to have the energy to get up, but he can still operate a paper towel.

"I should really...work on my...stamina," he huffs.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh? Then I will gladly provide a workout regimen."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds like a lot of effort. Maybe I need extra incentive?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Extra incentive? I guess I could get Felix to help? Is that enough extra incentive to you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Maybe. How does Felix feel about you being his pimp?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor snorts. "I have privileged information that he will be fine being pimped to you." He taps two fingers to his forehead.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Psychic twins. I don't remember buying a lottery ticket, but I'm pretty sure I'm enjoying the prize."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I know, me and Felix are a gift to the world."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The whole world? You must be busy."

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor giggles and kisses Sky. "What can I say, we love to do things."

Permalink Mark Unread

"What were you planning for our town?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Felix was still planning and getting a feel of the place. The most general idea being: make stuff suck less. And one of the primary methods would be: stop having all these crazy people from fucking up everything so much."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Uphill climb, there. I guess if anyone can do it, it's Felix."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The power of magical bribing is on his side."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Are you worried about him? He's been kind of out of it, since he came here. He can get stuff done, but I'm worried it's at his own expense."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am worried... things will get be okay eventually, we will solve everyone's problems, but we know that because we have forever. He is particularly scared of taking centuries to return home and disrupt things with his friends and family. It actually makes him feel guilty for wanting to come back."

Trevor pauses.

"But, I do think helping people is actually better for him. He just needs someone on his side too. And..." Trevor waves vaguely, "the thing with Scott made Felix break even further because it made Felix... I don't think panic is quite right word? Feel helpless maybe? Felix was worried there would be obvious ways to help people but he wouldn't access them because he trusted Scott and that was a bad idea."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Makes sense. Did- how does he feel about that now?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am not literally psychic. It's just hard not to predict someone when you are his magical clone. But what Felix took from the experience that he shouldn't trust anyone even if they look well-meaning, which isn't the best for him emotionally in the short run, but ultimately better on the long run. If he is betrayed down the road it would go bad."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod.

"What do you want to do now? There's kind of a lot to deal with."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I should check on Scoobie Do and his gang. Do you want to come along?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure, road tripping."

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor kisses him. "Sure, want to bother them now?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm up for it, yeah. Let's go."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure thing, Scott's house first?"

Permalink Mark Unread

To Scott's house.

Sky disentangles himself from Trevor.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor kisses Sky one last time and knocks on the door.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Stiles? You look as pale as usual, that's a good sign."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not Stiles, I'm the extra one. Can we come in?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure, come in. Scott, your other Stilinski is here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hey, what's up?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Nothing urgent, we clones were curious how things are holding up here and what exactly happened since Felix got intimate with Allison's knives."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, we've been dealing with stuff. Allison is still hallucinating, but she hasn't stabbed anyone again."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We're so impressed, really."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't suppose the local magic can help with the hallucinations? Or at least make her non-violent when she is out of it."

"Has she almost stabbed someone?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"The local magic? She hasn't almost stabbed anyone, either."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Druid stuff, I guess. Not really magic. Magic would be cool."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Agreed, angelwolf," Trevor tells Isaac, "there is quite powerful stuff from my world, but it is non-trivial to learn. Well, at least the only 'victim' is Felix and hopefully Allison is dealing well with being kept away from sharp objects."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Is she being kept away from sharp objects?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, that. She's doing okay. How about you? How are you doing?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am doing fine," Trevor glances meaningfully at Sky, "how about the others?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Allison is doing the best she can. Stiles is...resting."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's good that you're so concerned for him."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you need anything?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just talking."

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor puts a wing around Sky. "Well, good. No long-term injuries, I hope? How about you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's been hard, handling the control issues, but I'm getting the hang of it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Any idea on what caused the sleepwalking?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No. I mean, the Nemeton, I guess, and our ritual, technically, but that's not really an explanation."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I get that you guys have reason to have a masquerade, but it's getting old being unable to... I don't know, call someone official that would be able to advise on the problem. Or even just go to the wikipedia page on the Nemeton."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you want to go public, we can work on that later. The Nemeton isn't the part we're having trouble with. It isn't causing our hallucinations, the sacrifice just left us open to general bad influences."

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky stays quiet, leaning into Trevor.

Permalink Mark Unread

"And there is no known way to block those influences? Have we tested if keeping you three in a pocket dimension helps?

Trevor: is leanable.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I didn't think of that. It could work."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I try to be helpful that way, it must run in the family."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod.

"Okay. When do you want to do it?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, it might not work, but I can't think of a fast way of knowing that. We should get at least one of you and keep them in Felix's dimension for a few days."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll do it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Isn't Stiles sleepwalking into random basements? Maybe he should try it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I said at least. Stiles is sleepwalking. Allison is stabbing people. And you are a fucking werewolf. The three of you could hang out a bit on another plane of existence to see if that helps. Bring friends along if you can't stand be apart from angelwolf over there."

Permalink Mark Unread

"...okay. If that's what you want."

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrug. "I am mostly concerned for the sake of the non-immortals among us. Inventing resurrection would be such a hasle."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We only have two dimensions to work with, right? Mine and Felix's? And mine is kind of hard for me to do anything with, because of the control issues. I'm not sure the three of us should be kept together."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Together in dimensional terms? In theory we could keep one of you in the complex housing everyone and another in Felix's house... you could portal-write to him, and have him make more residences or something?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay. I'll ask him. Thanks for suggesting it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good... tell him to stop freaking out too. Anything else I should know, while we are here?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think that's everything."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay, then... Anything you'd want from us?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No. You're already doing so much for us."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes, but magnanimously solving people's problems is what makes me perfect, followed by how humble I am."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Right. I'll be sure to tell Felix how perfect and humble you are."

Permalink Mark Unread

"He knows, he gets it from him. No offense, Trevor."

Permalink Mark Unread

"None taken."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So you'll talk to Felix, and then the three of you go into quarantine?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah. We don't want to hurt someone."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think we're good here, Trevor."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. Thank you for having us, Scott."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, thanks."

They let themselves out.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yeah, they leave. "You okay?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm fine. I can't really talk to the guy, but I'm fine."

Permalink Mark Unread

Wing-hug. "I get that the situation is weird, but I also don't get why is this specific brand of weird."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I have memories of a whole backstory that wasn't real, and he was in it. This Scott isn't my Scott."

Permalink Mark Unread

Wing-hug. "Do you want to visit... anyone while we are here?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No. I'm glad you're here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Honestly, so do I."

Trevor takes this opportunity to push Sky against a tree and kiss him.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kisses!

If he's thinking about Scott, it's not at all obvious.

Permalink Mark Unread

If he is thinking about Scott, Trevor is not doing a good enough job.

"Let's go back to Felix's place. It's empty and we can have more privacy there." Neck kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Works for me."

He doesn't stop touching Trevor, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor is not feeling like stop touching Sky either. "We should go before we commit public indecency."

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky's room is private and available, so they can take their kissing there.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I was thinking Felix's and I guess mine's place, because we don't have to mind the noise or being interrupted."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Are you going to make lots of noise? Let's go."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I plan to make a lot of noise, hopefully part of the noise will come out of you though."

They go.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky will whimper, and moan, and generally not try to stay quiet.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor is not patient enough to wait until they are inside the building, but he does wait until they go through the gates. There is a wall around the place which is lovely for privacy. He unbuckles Sky's belt the moment the gate closes.

Permalink Mark Unread

He's very cooperative, and doesn't try very hard to get them inside.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, there is this nice sofa-thing on the porch. The porch totally counts as inside the house. Also Sky's pants really should go.

Permalink Mark Unread

On the porch?

Are they giving everyone a real show today?

He's very cooperative.

Permalink Mark Unread

While that would be very hot, there isn't anyone around. The complex where everyone else lives is far enough away that they should have their privacy. And cooperation is good. Trevor wants to remove all of Sky's clothes.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yeah, okay.

Trevor will have to do it, though. He'll have to tear them off. Sky is suddenly a chaste innocent.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes, "chaste" and "innocent" those are totally words that relate to Sky. The clothes are removed and teared and now Trevor has a naked Sky on the porch's count. Trevor takes a moment to admire the view and wonder what he shall do with him.

Permalink Mark Unread

What if he makes things simple?

He takes Trevor's hands and leads them to somewhere interesting.

Sensitive, apparently.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, Trevor can be gentle and yet firm.

He also can use his mouth to kiss Sky's neck.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky can be needy yet insecure.

Wait.

They ignore his internal monologue, because wow that sure is Trevor's mouth doing creative and clever things.

He can't quite resist growling, so instead he focuses on running his hands through Trevor's hair.

Permalink Mark Unread

Growling is absolutely delightful and now Trevor wants to kiss Sky's chest so he will do that and work his way down.

Permalink Mark Unread

He squirms under Trevor's touch, wrapping his arms around him.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor wraps his wings in return and continues kissing-with-an-obvious-destination.

Permalink Mark Unread

It is obvious, isn't it?

Sky seems to be enjoying the proceedings, but he keeps his arms firmly above the waist.

Permalink Mark Unread

...Even if Trevor pulls Sky's hands below the waist?

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, then he'll just have to keep them there. Whatever Trevor wants, Sky can do.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh? Anything? Because there is something Trevor wants Sky to do.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky can put his mouth in a lot of places.

He has the technique down.

Permalink Mark Unread

Of course, because Sky is a smart and skilled boy.

Permalink Mark Unread

He is really quite talented. Trevor should be very appreciative.

Sky certainly seems to appreciate him, after all.

There goes a burst of appreciation.

Permalink Mark Unread

What a delicious burst of appreciation. Trevor will have to reciprocate it with a kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sky wants to feel appreciated too, though.

Kisses, and other uses of his very, very useful mouth.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, he is going to get so much appreciation. Loads of it.

Permalink Mark Unread

They're a mutual appreciation society.

He doesn't, unfortunately, have Trevor's stamina.

"Wow."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're welcome," Trevor says snuggling Sky on the porch.

Permalink Mark Unread

Snuggle.

"You haven't actually met Felix, have you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not at all. I only have his memories. Why?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just anticipation. I'm looking forward to that."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Why? Am I not good enough for you?" Trevor teases.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I wouldn't want anyone to feel left out."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good." Trevor kisses him. "How thoughtful of you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So thoughtful. Make sure to leave a review so Felix knows what he's going to get."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure! 10/10 would bang again and so hot I want to keep him naked all the time," Trevor says sliding a finger down Sky's chest.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I have lots to contribute! What about my brilliant insights into geopolitics?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Those are accounted for the hotness too, don't worry. Your pretty face is not the only feature I like about you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Mhm.

Kisses, then?

Sky is too tired for some activities, but he can do kisses.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kisses!

It's okay to be tired.

"We should take a shower."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You should. I'll stay here and admire the view."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of course you will. Before I go, do you want anything? You can help yourself to the fridge or watch something on the TV."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That was hungry work. Just remember you told me to help myself."

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor snorts blows Sky's a kiss and goes take his shower.

Permalink Mark Unread

He waits.

He thinks.

He fails to move until Trevor comes back.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor takes a nice shower and comes back in a bathrobe. He expects to find Sky in the kitchen or living room and then finally finds him back in the porch.

"Sky? Are you alright?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fine. Nice to see you again, handsome."

Kiss?

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! That totally looked like a deflection, but that is no reason for not kissing plus ass-grabbing, because Sky is still naked and that is too hard to resist.

"Are you sure you don't want anything?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll be okay. Just need to unwind later, in private."

Permalink Mark Unread

Hairpetting. "If you need space just say so."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I want you here, right now. I'll throw a tantrum when I really want you gone."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Try not to have the kind of tantrum that breaks things," neck kiss, "I am kind of hungry and I am going to make a sandwich or something. Do you want something?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure. I didn't wind up eating anything."

Permalink Mark Unread

In that case Trevor will go to the kitchen prepare something, asking what Sky wants in case the other boy decides not to follow.

Permalink Mark Unread

He follows. He likes watching Trevor.

He's not picky; he'll eat anything.

Permalink Mark Unread

Does Sky pick up his clothes, because Trevor might be pleasantly distracted.

Good, this means Trevor can make him a balanced meal. Or at least as balanced it can be in sandwich form.

Permalink Mark Unread

Clothes are for later.

Naked snacking is a reasonable pastime.

Permalink Mark Unread

Naked snacking is an improvement on clothed snacking. Maybe they could upgrade that to naked movie watching?

Permalink Mark Unread

He will take part in naked movie watching.

He's very snuggly.

Permalink Mark Unread

being snuggly is great, even better with wings and the couch is comfy.

(The furniture looks weird, but soon it becomes obvious it is to accommodate the wings.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hey. Have you thought about what you're going to do next?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not quite. I mostly want to keep things tidy until Felix is reembodied since," he waves, "our dynamic is going to affect things. I think."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod.

Snuggle.

He starts snarking about the movie.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor laughs at the snarking and adds to it. He also kisses Sky occasionally.

Permalink Mark Unread

He does seem to enjoy kisses.

The movie eventually ends, and Sky announces that he'd like the night to himself.

"Nothing personal. You're very pretty and charming, I just need a break."

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrugs. "I too think I am very pretty and charming. Have a good night."

Trevor kisses him goodbye.

Permalink Mark Unread

He goes to his room.

He sleeps soundly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor sleeps like an angel.

Permalink Mark Unread

That night, Scott talks to Felix.

Hello?

Permalink Mark Unread

Hello. Scott! Is everything alright?

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor and I talked. He suggested me, Stiles, and Allison stay in your dream dimension to protect everyone else from us.

I was worried that our separate issues could react badly if we're all in the same space and no one else is there.

Permalink Mark Unread

It might depend on the nature of the specific issue. Might block whatever is happening to you all. It would make it harder for you to hurt other people, but might still hurt yourselves even if we created a very secure place to house you in. Are things getting worse? Any new incidents since your mom found Stiles?"

Permalink Mark Unread

I think I'm finally getting myself under control. Stiles hasn't had anything since that night. Allison seems okay, too, but with her it wasn't as obvious until something happened. She hasn't been having the dreams anymore.

Permalink Mark Unread

Is she doing better? I hope me dying didn't traumatize her in some way.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's doing okay. We're all a little vulnerable because of it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Would it help if I told her that I understand that she wasn't in control of her actions?

Permalink Mark Unread

You dying wasn't your fault. If you'd been anyone else, that would have been it. Saying that might be comforting, but I'm not sure she wants to feel good about this.

Permalink Mark Unread

She shouldn't feel bad about things beyond her control.

Permalink Mark Unread

It was our choice to do the ritual. We knew we were going to attract dangerous forces.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, I still don't hold against her.

I am sorry for my behavior earlier. I should've tried being more understanding.

Permalink Mark Unread

You've been nice to us, even though we're kind of a mess.

I'm glad you're here, even though I know it's hard for you.

And now there's Trevor.

Permalink Mark Unread

I still going to hold myself to higher standards, but thank you.

And you hardly had much saying in how your world is.

I still don't know how I am supposed to make it right by Trevor.

Permalink Mark Unread

He seems okay with his situation. It might all be an act, but he seems like he's got less rules than some people? He wants to do what's right, but he doesn't care about being nice. I don't know him that well yet, but I don't think he's the kind of person you have to step carefully with.

Permalink Mark Unread

Okay. I am sorry if he causes you any trouble.

Has he caused any trouble?

Permalink Mark Unread

No, that's not what I meant. He's just- different than us.

He's like Stiles, he doesn't care what people think. He's still a good person, and he's still cares about people the way you do, just not-what they think.

Permalink Mark Unread

He sounds a bit like my-

he erases "my"

He sounds a bit like our brother. Fenris.

Permalink Mark Unread

I think he's a lot like both of you.

We'll be waiting for you. I hope it's not too lonely.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's okay. I bit boring. Better than the alternative.

Thank you for talking to me.

Permalink Mark Unread

I like talking to you. You make me think about things differently.

Permalink Mark Unread

Thank you.

You are a good and kind person, Scott.

Permalink Mark Unread

Is there anything I can do while you're incapacitated? Is there something you think Trevor should know sooner than later?

Permalink Mark Unread

You're already doing enough. I don't even know what to say to Trevor...

Permalink Mark Unread

I think he's in the same position as Sky, but...he knew he was new. Maybe just tell him you love him?

Permalink Mark Unread

It feels kinda of presumptuous to say that when I've never met him.

Permalink Mark Unread

He says he has your memories.

Permalink Mark Unread

I still never met him. But at least he is... familiarized with who I am.

Permalink Mark Unread

You might not know him, but he knows you. Tell him whatever seems right; he'll know what you meant by it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Tell him: I will try to do my best to make it right by you.

Permalink Mark Unread

I promise.

Can I do anything else? I feel like we've let you down.

Permalink Mark Unread

No, that is okay. You don't own me anything and you haven't done anything wrong.

Permalink Mark Unread

I'll figure out how to make it up to you, I promise.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, thank you.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor wakes up early the next day and makes himself pancakes for breakfast.

Then he decides to fly around for a bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

There's someone following him.

Quietly moving, not making a sound.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, clearly he should be discreet and patient about this.

But that is boring, he instead is going to turn and fly towards where the someone is, "can I help you with something?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thank you for asking, it saves me some trouble."

She has a sword at her belt, still in its sheath.

"What do you want?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, knowing who I have the pleasure to meet would be a start?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"A dangerous person who wants to protect the people here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hey! We have that in common!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Why did you come here?"

She places one hand on the sheath.

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor looks at the hand on the sheath and giggles. "Sorry," he clears his throat, "I didn't pick this specific place to come. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that I was born here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Is this a riddle?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Nope. But you are being all mysterious in a vaguely threatening way and not giving a name. So, I feel entitled to make some inside joke that you won't get and depending how this conversation goes I might even explain it to you. Or not. My only hint: the truth is likely very outside your hypothesis space." He grins.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Noshiko. You should consider using fewer words. Someone might think you were playing a game with them."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Trevor." he gives her a salute. "Games? Like following people around without offering a reason? Granted, the wings can be reason enough."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I've found that explaining myself to the hostile, unknown supernatural forces only hurts me. I'm sorry you found my following you to be frustrating."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Heh, I am more confused than frustrated. Care to help in that regard?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not sure I should. Whatever you are, you picked a bad time to be an unknown quantity. Consider leaving town."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You do realize that statement is unhelpfully vague, right?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No, this behavior is unintentional and serves no purpose."

Permalink Mark Unread

Snort. "Of course. Are you planning to at least give more motivating information for why I should leave town?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No. Stay. Whatever you are, I think you'll agree that a malevolent chaos spirit needs to be stopped."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You have my attention."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Recently, a powerful source of magic in this town was activated, and as a result, an old and powerful creature was released from its cage. This spirit has, I believe, found a human host. The danger posed by the nogitsune cannot be overstated."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah, of course. What exactly is a nogitsune?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"A malevolent spirit of chaos that feeds on pain and conflict. They lack bodies of their own, but can possess anyone, once invited in."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yikes. Okay, what constitute an invitation? How do we stop it?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"As I understand it, the nogitsune must be invited the same way you would invite anyone- you just have to accept when it demands entry. I've never been possessed myself, so I don't know the specifics. As for stopping it- I used my best solution when I trapped it in the first place. The only other option I know of is to kill the host."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod. "So, hypothetically, if death wasn't a permanent thing to a certain someone could we get the nogitsune in that body and then kill it? Not exactly the first thing I would try, but I am curious about your guess."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It could work. The nogitsune can be trapped by mountain ash, but not when inside a host."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't suppose we could capture the host and perform an exorcism?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Once the host agrees, death is the only escape."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright, what sort of signs I should be looking from the host? Heads revolving in a 360º angle?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Besides the changes in behavior, the main indicator will be difficulty reading or otherwise mastering language."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And no way to distinguish that from a dyslexia combine with poor mood swings?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Dyslexia doesn't appear suddenly. We can look for a history of it before we act."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fair enough. How exactly are you planning to check. ...Actually, are you a hunter or something?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Girl, when you give confusing answers like that," Trevor says with a slasher smile, "my first instinct is to discover the truth purely out of spite. Now, if you want to keep it a secret, I can understand if you just say so."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am a nine hundred year old kitsune and find the lack of patience shorter-lived people have to be frequently surprising. Was that more helpful?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yup!" Trevor says brightly. "Do you get a lot of jokes about not looking a day over thirty or that is a modern media thing?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I might get more if I told anyone."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Anyway, what exactly are you doing to find the Nogitsune? Were you suspecting that I was it? They?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"The nogitsune will be difficult to find unless it shows itself. I can only look at possible hosts one at a time."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, I would like to offer my help."

Permalink Mark Unread

"As we discussed, there are only so many warning signs. Even with your help, we may not find it until it wants us to."

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrug. "There is definitely some help that a weather-controlling flying immortal can grant you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you want to help me once I find it, I won't stop you. How can I contact you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor gives her an e-mail address. "I might have a proper cell number in a few days. Do you have anything in case I need to contact you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Meet me at the local library. If you go there, I'll meet you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perfect. Anything else or can I proceed with my morning flight?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Enjoy."

She stalks off.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Trevor flies off in search for Scott or the nearest relevant person.

Permalink Mark Unread

Theoretically, some of the relevant people will be in school. Sky might be easiest to contact.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sure, Sky works, he will find Sky and say. "Hey, some mysterious fox-lady told me that one or all of the three Nemetons sacrifices might be possessed. How was your night?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hello to you too. Do we trust the mysterious fox lady?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, there is that saying 'trust but verify' which I guess works even when you don't trust people," he then relates his conversations between himself and Noshiko.

Permalink Mark Unread

"She didn't say anything about weaknesses? Does mountain ash work? Who needs to be that cryptic, is it a pathological thing?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"She didn't even say anything about powers, actually. She did say that mountain ash works, but only when it's outside a host. I honestly don't know what the deal with the crypticness is. Might be a kitsune thing. And maybe this is just a prank, but I think it's worth telling the others about it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The part where they feed on chaos and pain is kind of weird, most monsters around here are all about violence and vengeance, but they don't like it. They just can't help it."

They go to meet up with the others.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I honestly don't know what to expect as normal from the local supernaturals."

Where they meet the others? Who is there besides the three sacrifices?

Permalink Mark Unread

One of the sacrifice's fathers is there as well.

Permalink Mark Unread

There's also this guy.

Permalink Mark Unread

"What's this about?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sky said that Trevor has news for us about our situation."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Lay it on us."

Permalink Mark Unread

Cool. He tells everything the kitsune told him (he decides not to share her name with the know hunter of supernatural creatures).

"So, Scott, Stiles and Allison are totally possessed by an ancient chaos spirit and there is a fox-woman hunting them down. How do we solve this problem?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"We get it out. Mr. Argent?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I may have a lead. I'd rather not discuss it in front of any nogitsune."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Who are you going to discuss it with?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Lahey. Doctor. Newcomer. We should talk, without them."

Permalink Mark Unread

Blink.

"I didn't know we were friends."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Some other location would be nice. We can use my apartment."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't think any of us trust you enough for that."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, no offense, but we're not sending everyone else to the morgue."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The hospital?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Felix's dimension? Honestly I think we can just send the three Linda Blairs away and talk, but whatever."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure, we'll leave. Scott, Stiles."

Permalink Mark Unread

Scott follows.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm fine right here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Don't be stubborn, why are you always so stubborn?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Don't make us bring out the holy water and start chanting at you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think I agree with the aspiring priest."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Stiles, he's right. We've all been feeling it, and we're losing control. It's not safe for us to hear this if we're really possessed."

Permalink Mark Unread

Trevor raises his hands and wings dramatically and starts chanting "The power of Christ compels you! The power of Christ compels you! The power of Christ compels you!"

Dramatic wind whirls around Trevor and Stiles, wind, thunder and lighting can be heard outside.

Permalink Mark Unread

Permalink Mark Unread

"Stiles, I'll watch Star Wars. Tomorrow. We'll watch it tomorrow, together."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're a terrible person, you know that? Fine, I'm gone. Have fun, other me."

Permalink Mark Unread

The three Linda Blairs leave.

Permalink Mark Unread

"So Argent Dad, what is your lead on the nogitisune?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Only one of the three has demonstrated the symptoms associated with language loss. Stilinski is struggling to read."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, fuck."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's about what I'm thinking. I don't know what it means that he's still acting like himself. It could be that the possession has steps, in which case we can interrupt it, but it could be the spirit pretending, and taking action could provoke it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mysterious Fox-lady didn't appear to believe the possession could be reversed. Do our resident Mysterious Druid-person has any input?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Nothing I'm aware of right now. It would be worth looking into alternatives before we make any rash decisions."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod. "Yeah. Okay... I am not at all that trigger happy, but any reason to believe that I couldn't kill whoever is possessed in case it comes to that?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No. That should solve the problem. We can trap the spirit as soon as it's released."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Let me get this straight. The plan is to kill someone to free the spirit? That's the plan."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am not planning to kill yet, angelwolf. But it's good to know the resources we have at our disposal. I can probably control my shocks well enough to knock out a target, but I wouldn't want to risk it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"He's got a point about the strategy. How sure are you that we can trap it?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mountain ash will trap a nogitsune just as well as it traps everything else."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Cool plan. Now what else we can do?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can research the possibility of an exorcism. If the spirit has taken hold of his mind, it should be possible to disrupt that."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Where and how do you do your research?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I would probably need to leave town for this. The goal is to find experts, books, and occasionally places that can give new insight."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I get how the incentives must have lined up over time such to produce the current world as it is, but don't you ever wish you could just do a wiki search for things?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It would be convenient in some ways. I should get packing."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Safe journeys. Let me know if you want clear weather for an airplane trip or something."

Trevor turns back to the others. "Okay, so how do we safely capture Stiles?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"We don't. We minimize casualties."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I know this is hard for you to understand, but sometimes we have to use our words instead of our claws."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yup. We have options, we can contain the Nogitisune host through non-lethal methods. Also, if it comes to killing it's probably safer if we use bullets or my lighting bolts. Unless there is a reason not to?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No. The method shouldn't matter, if you can land a hit."

Permalink Mark Unread

"What do we do if we can contain it? Can we get it out of him?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's what the research is for. When the good doctor returns, we'll know."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can probably knock-out someone with electricity, but I never trained that skill. Not to sound threatening or anything but killing anything with a human body is trivial for me and Felix. I think we could focus on how to keep the thing out of action once we contain it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"After we trap it, we have time to consider other options."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Can't we just do an exorcism?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not really my area of expertise."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. So what our plan should be? Should we contact fox lady?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't think we should trust her. Kitsune can be pretty wily."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, I wouldn't know. I don't think we have any fox specific magic back in my- I mean Felix's native universe. And even if she is wily she at least looked a bit informed about things. It might be worthy at least keep in touch with her."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You should put us in touch. The adults should handle this, going forward."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes, Mr. Responsible DILF, I am going to let you and the unnecessarily mysterious Fox Lady handle all of this without any input from us mere teenagers."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're not from around here, so I'll forgive you for being confused, but usually, when there's a delicate peace, we don't use sarcasm to insult people we don't like."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're not going to be able to maneuver without me and Aiden if you're worried about the supernatural world at large. Don't alienate him just because he's new."

Permalink Mark Unread

Good twin wolf!

"Also, is not me that you are going to deal with. But with Felix - the dude around your daughter's age - and I am certain that a very responsible adult like you wouldn't jeopardize Felix's altruistic plans just because his accidental clone didn't like being patronized."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm sure I can manage it. If we all plan talk to the mysterious fox lady, we should find a good time. Is there anyone who can't manage tonight?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can. Good idea to bring a familiar face anyway."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can make it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure, let's get this over with."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. Do you have any more input? Did you want to decide the location, too?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am entirely open to suggestions!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"The high school is a neutral meeting place."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perfect then. See you there."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm looking forward to it."

He stalks off.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Nobody died. Let's call it a win."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, that is always a plus. Now we just have to make sure that the Nogitisune doesn't know that we know... we can't treat Stiles that much different, but if he is the one possessed he is going to be suspicious anyway."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We should act like it knows we know. Nothing else is safe."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If it knows we know, doesn't it just try to kill us?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's why we move first."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Uh, we definitely should be on our guard. But straight up attacking first might not be the best strategy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You heard what he said about this thing. We shouldn't let it think or plan, we should just go."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If we don't have a good plan, we'll just escalate more than we need to, and we might lose anyway."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes, harsh twin, listen to the sensible twin. We are going to be careful regardless. Also, Scott would never forgive us and I can tell he makes the worst kicked puppy faces. Do you want to have his kicked puppy face aimed at you? Do you think you can withstand against such power?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Permalink Mark Unread

"Things are different now, without him. Things are better."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fine. Whatever you want."

Permalink Mark Unread

Gosh, I bet that is some sort of dramatic backstory stuff. Trevor doesn't have time to deal with more tragic backstory stuff.

"I promise, when we need carnage and violence you're going to be the first to know."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's most of a plan. Are we done?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yup, thank you for your time."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Try not to die before then."

He stalks off.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Same thing for you angelwolf."
