Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.

Nothing interesting, nothing dangerous. Why is everything so boring? The Doctor's obsession with the Earth makes even less sense to him now that he's spent some time visiting the place.

He was surrounded by hundreds of people and they are all so terribly dull. He scans the crowd listlessly.

The crowd is rather boring, at least by his standards. There are a few people eating ice cream, some standing about walking along in the sort-of sun (it's more grey than anything, but at least it's not raining), and a few pigeons walking about on the ground.

But there's one person. A woman, standing at the edge of the square, up some of the steps and looking at him.

He looks back at her. Does he know her? He's pretty sure he doesn't know her, not yet anyways.

She's looking at him mostly without expression. Has folded arms, a slightly tilted head, and perhaps seems like she might be trying to suss out a puzzle.

Doesn't seem inclined to approach him.

He walks towards her. She's more interesting than the pigeons.

She seems to keep watching him. Doesn't move much, but doesn't look like she's specifically trying to hold position, either.

The people in the crowd are quite annoying, getting in his way. There are quite a few of them.

He ignores them and keeps walking. It's usually an effective strategy.

When he's rather nearby, he can see up the steps to where she's standing, still quite impassively.

Then someone walks between him and her, blocking his sight, and when they're past she's gone.

That wasn't boring. He races up the stairs to where she was standing and spins around.

There is… nobody visible! Well, not true. There are plenty of people visible.

Just nobody matching the description of the interesting person from before.

Back to boring it is.

That evening the Master goes to a bar. Isn't that where humans go to entertain themselves?

There are quite a few people around, so: probably.

They at least don't seem bored by their behaviour.

He maneuvers towards the bar and orders a drink called the Back Alley.

The bartender gets to making it.

The crowd… really isn't particularly interesting. There are a few people either side of him drinking various things, and then there's a few people dotted around the rest of the room, some groups.

He considers knocking all of the bottles off of the bar to see the reaction, but decides to wait until after he gets his drink.

The bartender does bring him his drink! After going and speaking to the other patrons a bit.

"Here you are," he says, putting it down. "– The woman over there's paid for it."

"Oh? Which one?"
The Master looks towards the bartender's gesture.

So he points!

To a woman who looks remarkably similar to the one he met earlier, looking in his direction. When he meets her gaze, she waves at him.

He waves back and salutes her with his drink.
He takes a gulp and chokes hard enough that he feels the alcohol burn the back of his nose.

She raises her drink in return.

It appears to be… some brand of cola.

He moves towards her.

And when he's partway there, someone gets up to go to the bathroom, blocking his path.

When they're past, she's just going out the door.

He groans loudly, turning several heads, grabs his drink, and strides out of the bar. He ignores the bartender calling for him to leave the glass.

She's nowhere to be seen.

Inconvenient.

He heads back to his TARDIS, which in his opinion, is significantly more stylish than the Doctor's.

A few days later, he lands in a mall. He wants stuff and to possibly eat indecent amount of fake ice-cream and overpriced chocolates.

There continue to be people around. Boring people, standing around in front of shops and window-shopping and some looking at games.

Ice cream is available. Chocolate is likewise. There are stores selling stationery and various 'sweets', for he's in Britain.
