"Getting acquainted with your mother."

"Oh, so you came here to die."

"Are you going to do your job or not."

"What, for a traitor? Ha."

"If you're not going to do your job then get out of here."

"Why should I listen to you?"

Shrug. "If you don't want to follow orders then quit."

"Isn't that what you did?"

"Yeah, I did. And now I'm back here. Are you done wasting my time yet?"

Shrug. There's always more to be done. He'll go take care of something else.

Then Torn will assume he's supposed to follow.

Then Torn will in fact get any instruction on how to do what Erol does. What is he supposed to do, not explain everything to the person following him?

Great. He'll call that a success.

And Erol will just... keep going. If no one stops him, he'll eventually try to return to where he used to sleep.

"Are we done for the day?"

"...You're still here?"

"Obviously."

"I'm done. I don't care what you do."

Torn leaves.

And Commander Erol Kamis tries the door, and tries it again, and Erol remembers what is real.

Hopefully he can make it home to Val without drawing anyone's attention on the way.

He can do that.

Val is waiting for him and looks worried.

"Hi."

"Hey, how are you?"

"I don't know. I wasn't. How are you?"

"I'm fine. How much more of this are you doing before you're done?"
