When they go to bed, Lev notices his sparkly blue fingernails and makes him jerk himself off so he can watch the way the light makes them glitter.

Oh — he can do that —

(He'd been expecting a reprimand. Instead he gets a reprieve.

...maybe it's because he's hurt? Lev had said he was overprotective — or maybe that's wishful thinking, he hasn't been able to tell what if anything he's doing to cause Lev's moods —

Still. It's worth a try.)

The next day his cut is healed and Sasha's tied up and blindfolded and Lev makes him call himself a useless worthless failure and list off every mistake he made since Lev bought him.

He can't list whatever the pointless useless tasks were punishment for because he doesn't know what it is but he lists everything else, from failing to restrain himself that first day all the way up to not being careful enough when he was shaving and causing Lev to worry and being lazy and selfish yesterday.

He calls himself a failure, useless, worthless, less than worthless, and he means every word of it.

And Lev gets down on his knees and sucks Sasha off while he calls himself worthless and then unties him and calls him beautiful and precious and good.

He can't — he doesn't understand —

He sinks into Lev's arms and (if he knows you aren't happy —) doesn't cry.

"I love you," Lev says, petting his hair, "you're so good, you make me so happy."

He clamps down on the sound he wants to make (locked out frozen dying alone) and clings to Lev.

It's nice when Sasha clings to him. It makes him feel wanted.

He buries his face in Lev's shoulder and keeps clinging.

Lev pets his hair and makes soothing noises.

"I love you so much."

"I love you too."

He says it almost on accident, all of his willpower devoted to keeping Lev's shoulder dry.

Lev kisses him. "Nobody's ever said that to me before and meant it."

"I love you," he repeats. Clings tighter still.

He's not crying. He's not crying. It's a good thing Lev can't see his face, though.

Lev is going to take him to bed and snuggle him and tell him he loves him over and over and over.

Lev is so perfect.

(Sasha is owned and kept and loved and useless worthless Lev made him say it it's not like Lev doesn't know —)

Sasha's even more cuddly than usual tonight.

Which is pretty normal when you've just said you love each other!

So it is.

That morning Lev's bed is so soft and warm and Sasha is so so tempting and is Lev absolutely sure he wants to get up.

He kisses Sasha and says "I love you, but there's a project at work" and leaves.

He brings Lev his meals and otherwise stays in Lev's bed for the day.

(Lev loves him. Lev loves him Lev loves him. He's loved. Owned and wanted and loved. Nothing else matters. Right?)

It becomes six pm and seven pm and eight pm and Lev still hasn't stopped working.

(It isn't even a kink thing this time. A secret part of Yenta's algorithm got leaked and he has to figure out how to do damage control.)

That's okay. Lev has work. Sasha's here whenever Lev gets here.

9 pm. 10pm. 11pm. Midnight.

The light's on in his office. He's not even swearing.

Sasha curls up around a pillow and falls asleep at the foot of Lev's bed.

When he wakes up, Lev isn't there.
