Aaah yep the curse is still there. She almost blushes, but keeps it down, and shakes her head instead.

"Well! The temple is just up there. Let's go?"

He nods and follows her.

It's still a good fifteen minutes' walk. The ruined temple is... Definitely ruined. There's moss on everything. Many of the windows are missing. Some of the columns are crumbling. Weird metal monster corpses (?) are all over the place. There's a gaping hole along one wall, and the roof is sagging worryingly.

But the worn, but surprisingly intact, giant statue of a plain-looking woman in robes with a modest and stylized set of wings is... Surprisingly intact.

Link walks up the short staircase leading up to it.

"...We should both pray, I think."

He nods.

"Is there a particular way? Or an offering?"

"You just sort of... Whisper at her?"

And she does, in a small voice.

"Oh, Hylia. I come to ask you to aid someone in need... To lift Nikasios's unwanted curse..."

He bows his head.

"Goddess Hylia I entreat you to help me. I do not know if this is truly a curse, but I would gladly be mortal to be rid of it. Please, if it is in your power."

There's a sort of - whisper in his mind.

Oh, young one. I see that you have suffered greatly, and that you remain good-hearted despite it. I would be happy to change you, to remove this destructive and disruptive influence. There are two things that cause me to hesitate. I cannot remove the influence you wield upon others. To strip magic away goes against my nature. However, I can yet add to it - I can empower you with a barrier, a way to suppress the unwanted effect. If this is acceptable, however, I am pressed for power opposing Ganon's influence.

O hero, you have gathered many magical ingredients and monster parts. If you wish, give some of them to me. I can use their stored power to provide this boon to the young one. I know you have worked hard to gather these things, but I leave the choice to you.

"Yes, definitely. He's an innocent, cursed. If that's the only way to help him... Yes."

There's a wordless acknowledgement.

Young one, will you accept my boon, enabled by the generosity of the hero?

"Yes, thank you."

The mental whisper starts listing things Link needs to give up. Monster parts, magical plants and mushrooms, gemstones. Each item turns white and breaks into fragments of glowing light as she appears them from the Sheikah Slate. The fragments of light gather above their heads. There's a curious pressure in the air. Something unreal, something holy, is happening. The dilapidated temple seems clean, pristine, white stone shining, and they hear faint, fragmented music.

Take this boon and live well and virtuously.

And then the cloak of light settles on Nikasios and disappears. The strange pressure, the music, the voice of a goddess, is gone. Everything is back to normal inside the space of a blink.

Link squints at him for a second, then grins. "It worked! It's gone!"

She hugs him in celebration before he can respond!

He hugs her back.

"Thank you," he says, "thank you so much."

He sounds almost like he's going to cry, but he's beaming.

"I'm so glad Hylia could help you. Now you can live in a town if you want and everything!"

"I can't believe it. I'll get to see what being a person is like, a normal person. I can talk to people."

"Well, you were talking to me. But yeah! We should go to the Necluda if you want to meet people."

"I'd like that."

"It's a few days' walk. See that mountain over there... Dueling Peaks. There's a stable near the base, and a pass between the two peaks, and then you're in the Necluda. Maybe I should make you a tent? We should sleep on the plateau tonight, anyway."

"I don't mind sleeping outside. I like the space and the stars."

"If you're not gonna get cold I guess it's your choice. But it might rain, you know."

She stretches and sighs a bit. "I think we ought to practice your fighting a bit more if you want, maybe chat some - I don't know you much yet apart from the whole curse thing and you don't know me either yet - have dinner, and then get some sleep. It was an exciting day today, and another one's coming tomorrow!"

"I don't know that there's much to know about me outside the curse," Nikasios says, "it's been my whole life. But, I would like to talk to you more?"

"...Yikes. Sure! I actually don't remember much of my life... I nearly died and then was in a magical sleep for a hundred years, and I can't remember a lot of things. Mostly stuff from when I was littler."

"That's sad," he says.

"I'm sorry. I'm glad you woke up."

"Me too! Yeah, it kind of stinks, but I'm dealing with it. As long as I can move forward it'll all be fine."

"Do you know what made you sleep?"
