The Master's smile turns slightly warmer.

"She doesn't talk like we do, but she appreciates the attempt. She's her own place, like Earth is. She can be somewhere else, but she doesn't need to be."

"...okay."

The Master grows thoughtful for a moment, then grins again and does something with the instruments on the console.

He goes back to the door and flings it open.

They are no longer sitting in a forest.

Instead they are sitting in void, a darkness broken only by the bright, steady light of the stars and the blue light reflected off of planet Earth, which rests directly in front of them. From this distance, it looks small enough to cup in your hands.

"That," he says, looking smug, "is Earth."

"- no way."

"It's beautiful."

"It's not the prettiest planet I've ever seen, but I'll admit it's not bad."

"What's the prettiest one?"

For a moment, he looks almost wistful, but the expression is gone as quickly as it came.

"I can't choose just one, but, I'll show you something that makes Earth look amateur."

He closes the door, returns to the instrument panel, and enters another set of coordinates.

"You can do the honors," he says, turning around and gesturing at the door.

"Oooh," she says, "all right," and she adjusts her baby on her shoulder and opens it.

Outside, in a part of space so deep that there are no stars visible with the naked eye, a planet hangs in the void.

It creates its own light, waves of colors that move inward from the poles. When the waves of colors meet they rebound, creating smaller waves that rebound again against the waves encroaching from the poles. With each rebound, the colors change. When the waves start they are a dark, barely visible violet. With each rebound they grow brighter and gradually grow from purple to vibrant red and electric blue. Eventually, the ripples die, though a few sparks of the brightest colors always remain, clustering together in bright clumps around the equator.

"It's not actually this fast," the Master says, "Every second for us is a a dozen days down there."

"It's gorgeous! What's it called?"

The Master says a word that contains sounds not normally found in any human language. It's not quite clear how he's managing to produce them with his very human looking mouth.

"...and what's it for short?"

"Dunno. As far as I know, I'm the first outsider to find this place. It's never needed a nickname. You could pick one, if you wanted."

"I'm going to call it... Jewelsky."

He laughs.

"Jewelsky it is. I'd offer to take you to the surface, but we'd all dissolve in minutes without proper equipment and I don't have anything in baby size."

"Whoa. Who lives on it if it dissolves you?"

"It doesn't dissolve people that live there."

"So they're just... undissolvable people?"

"I mean, introduce them to the air on Earth and they'd have a terrible time, but they're made for this place. It doesn't hurt them."

"I guess that makes sense."

A door slides open in the walls of the room, with a perhaps exaggeratedly loud clicking noise.

"Oh, right. You need to eat don't you?"
