Well that wasn't in the game plan.

Jean kisses him back anyway. Might as well wait until he's more vulnerable than this.

His hands move up to Jean’s shoulders and he kisses him deeper, clearly tasting almost as much as he is kissing...

...and after a minute he pulls back, looking faintly confused.

Jean lets him, pets his hair. "Are you all right? Too much?"

“No, I just—uh—”

This is really weird.

He’s kissed humans. He’s kissed ghouls. It’s not like mouths have a perfectly consistent taste, but humans taste like something and ghouls taste like something else and this is incredible but definitely not either of them — and he smells human, more or less, except now that they’re in such close quarters without any breeze there’s just a hint of something else...

He shouldn’t risk a human figuring out. He doesn’t wanna kill anyone. He just has to...not show any eye during this entire hookup. While he freaks out internally because he has no idea what’s going on.

Right.

He laughs awkwardly.

“Sorry, I don’t know what’s up with me...”

He’s not a bad liar, but he’s not going to win any awards.

"It's okay." Pet pet. "Do you want a glass of water? Or to just cuddle for a little?"

The surest way to kill the ghoul is to catch him off guard with his pants around his ankles. The best way to get him there is to coax him through whatever inexplicable ghoul anxiety he's got going on.

“For a guy who isn’t looking for a long-term thing, you’re pretty sweet.”

Everything is probably fine. If he weren’t a human he would’ve said something by now, right? Or maybe he figures Z can tell...

“...tell me something about you, maybe?”

"I have a busy job," Jean says, in response to the former, "it doesn't mean I can't like someone I pick up."

Snuggle. Pet. "I came out to my father when I was fourteen. He asked me what that had to do with my homework. I was so annoyed that I made him swear not to tell my mother, and then arranged for her to walk in on me making out with a boy from school so I could have a properly dramatic coming out to one parent."

This is about five-eighths fictionalized, but it's a good story.

...seems weird that he’d already like somebody he just picked up off a bridge, but maybe he’s just lucky like that.

The story makes him laugh, though.

“How’d she take it?”

"Oh, she was very satisfyingly alarmed. Mostly, in retrospect, by the prospect of having to navigate that conversation, but at the time I felt terribly vindicated."

He flops to the side onto him.

“You’re lucky. Mine weren’t exactly thrilled.”

It wasn’t the biggest problem they had with him, but ‘I wasn’t really down with murder’ is a third-date conversation at best.

So much cuddly petting. He's really a very pettable ghoul.

"I'm very lucky," he agrees. "And not just in the way of finding pretty boys on bridges."

“C’mon, that’s just embarrassing,” he says, trying very hard not to be too happy about it.

He’s very snuggled up. He can hear his heartbeat so well from here.

The snuggling is honestly pretty nice. "What, I can't call you pretty?" He slips his little finger through an earring, tugs gently. "You should wear less jewelry if you don't like that."

–ooh. ❤

His fingers tighten in Jean's shirt and he gasps. It's a remarkably quick change in attitude.

"Thhhat part's fine."

"Oh. Good." Jean tugs him up by the ring for a kiss.

He kisses him back with enthusiasm and goes almost immediately for his zipper.

Ha. No. No part of him is going in a ghoul's mouth, thank you very much.

He slips out from under Z, rolls him over to pin him to the couch and kiss his neck.

He seems equally if not more pleased with this outcome.

"Ah–" Gasp. "Bite – bite me please –"

This is a really bad idea.

He can do it, though, if he's very very careful -- if he keeps his breath slow and his heart rate steady and thinks about poetry but not his favorite poetry, while he carefully bites at Z's neck.

He pulls Jean's head in with one hand and grabs at his shirt with the other, squirms underneath him.

"More–"

With a ghoul's senses – or a half-ghoul's – his pulse is loud enough to hear.

This seems like a really good time for his kagune to come out.

His eyes are shut. He doesn't see the ukaku flare to life between Jean's shoulder blades, so he just keeps pleading.

Jean kisses him -- it seems appropriate -- while the bright angles of the weapon fly at him, piercing him.
