evil detected [open]
we can just figure out who the guilty people are. with magic
Permalink Mark Unread

The Committee on Diabolism wants to be sure they can check everyone, or as close to everyone as possible. They should have enough magic between them to at least catch all the powerful Evil people, or at least that's Victòria's understanding, but they'll need to be a little careful if they want to be sure they've checked everyone.

The plan they've settled on is to station themselves near the entrances, where everyone will have to walk past them. They aren't confronting the Evildoers yet, that's for later, just making sure they identify as many of them as possible. They'll be meeting up before the rest of the committee meetings to compare notes.

Who here is visibly evil?

Permalink Mark Unread

Faintly evil. You can tell using either a detect evil spell or just good old racism.

Permalink Mark Unread

The man chairing the Succession and Inheritance Committee is Evil, strong enough to faintly detect, and not making any effort to hide it. He was sitting with the elected delegates yesterday, but he's dressed like a nobleman.

Permalink Mark Unread

A third person dressed well enough to be a noble heads over to the elected seats. This one's not evil! And wearing an Arodenite holy symbol around his neck. He's probably lawful neutral and really out of touch.

Permalink Mark Unread

What the fuck. Even she knows that Aroden is dead.

Permalink Mark Unread

The very pale noble girl who is rumored to have some connection to the undead isn't evil!

Permalink Mark Unread

Neither is the kid in the committee with her, barely old enough to be here!

Permalink Mark Unread

... Or the overt Hellknight, apparently.

Permalink Mark Unread

The other Hellknight is very faintly evil, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

The big swaggering Molthuni duke is evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

Of course Aspexia del Mar isn't Evil, she's on the anti-diabolism committee!

...Maybe the lady Hellknight just isn't a very powerful Hellknight?

Permalink Mark Unread

The good-looking paladin in mithril chain with a holy symbol of Iomedae around his neck and on his weapons is not evil! Possibly because he's a paladin!

Permalink Mark Unread

Eulàlia doesn't detect Evil! She assumes if she were strong enough to she'd have been put to death with her father. But she's a second-circle wizard and so there was nothing to see but a polite young woman whose thoughts were hymns to Iomedae through the whole execution.

Permalink Mark Unread

Carlota doesn't detect Evil and is mildly outraged that you wondered.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nope. This strange elf with leaf tattoos on her face doesn’t detect Evil.

(If someone tried her a couple decades ago, that would be another story.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Iomedae would never choose an Evil person to represent Her (and Cheliax should follow Her example in this).

Permalink Mark Unread

What, really, was there ever any doubt?

Permalink Mark Unread

Her spell says the Sarenrite's not evil, though the aforementioned Sarenrite disagrees with this statement.

Permalink Mark Unread

The Archduke who proposed necromancy as a legal punishment (if she picked that up) is not evil, in spite of that.

Permalink Mark Unread

This angry sortition delegate is not visibly Evil. (Almost none of the sortition delegates are.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Neither is this one.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's a hit dice short of being strong enough to detect as evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's not, but fortunately she's also not evil!

Permalink Mark Unread

He's not evil at the moment, but try again in a year and maybe you'll get a different response!

Permalink Mark Unread

The learned Barrister possesses a Faint Evil Aura. What did you expect?

Permalink Mark Unread

The count of Gualter has no aura.  Might be more a matter of lack of strength than lack of Evil, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

The half-elven count is strong enough to have an aura, but it isn't Evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

The other druid is not Evil and also believes she understands Good and Evil much better than the Chelish humans and their stupid spells! Or a goddess who isn't Good or Evil herself, for that matter! If you told her a spell said she was Evil she'd call the spell wrong.

Permalink Mark Unread

The woman sitting among the religious delegates wearing Irori’s holy symbol detects as faintly evil!  If you bothered detecting law, you would also detect a stronger aura of law.

Permalink Mark Unread

Not detectably evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

No evil or any detectable alignment on this young man sitting among the nobility.  If he had just cast his healing spell you might get a false positive on detecting Good!  Or if you had a "detect celestial presence" to match your "detect fiendish presence" his bloodline might give a false positive!  Sadly neither of these are the case, so he will miss out on the opportunity to explain his illustrious heavenly bloodline!

Permalink Mark Unread

Llei is faintly evil! This cannot possibly be surprising, but now you can tell yourself that you checked and didn't just assume.

Permalink Mark Unread

This man in the elected's seating is not detectably evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

Evil, and making no attempt to hide it.

Permalink Mark Unread

None of the power Roger ĥas is the kind that makes you show up to detect spells.

Permalink Mark Unread

Faintly Evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

Evil and still strictly speaking worships Asmodeus and has made no attempt to hide either.

Permalink Mark Unread

Not Evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

Not evil, as he repeatedly claimed.

Permalink Mark Unread

Evil, strong enough to ping, not hiding it, and on his way in giving his nephew a silver piece to go buy snacks.

Permalink Mark Unread

First circle. Abadar provides an aura of Law but if there's also evil under there you can't tell with such rudimentary methods.

Permalink Mark Unread

A cleric of Iomedae sporting five hit dice reads Strongly Lawful Good.

Permalink Mark Unread

A cleric of Shelyn with somewhat fewer hit dice than that reads weakly Good.

Permalink Mark Unread

Not evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

Faintly evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

A wizard who is somewhat shy of the border of leveling doesn't have a - maybe that's an aura? It - no it's gone again - it didn't look Good, at any rate.

Permalink Mark Unread

As a cleric of a True Neutral god, Jofre will not ping until he has grown up big and strong, and that's only if he develops moral convictions other than "I want to go outside" or systemic ones other than "you can't operate a ship if there's outright mutiny on the table for anything that's not itself ridiculously lethal", which Pharasma doesn't seem to find important.

Permalink Mark Unread

This important-looking noble isn't evil!

(Hahahaha no he's totally evil. He's just never won a fight against someone stronger than himself.)

Permalink Mark Unread

This elf is definitely not evil. She left Cheliax before evil got popular.

Permalink Mark Unread

Also not evil. She ran away from home, and then fought Cheliax, when it was good to do that!

Permalink Mark Unread

Not evil!

Permalink Mark Unread

Here’s a sortition delegate strong enough to detect as (faintly) evil.

Permalink Mark Unread

Would have to be faking the whole "Desnan cleric" thing to be evil, and isn't!

Permalink Mark Unread

It's almost like he's under the influence of powerful magic that makes him immune to all divinations. Are you checking?

Permalink Mark Unread

This guy could pass as a human with an unusually ashen complexion who's keeping his head down literally, but if you do realise he's a tiefling it's not ambiguous. He doesn't detect as Evil, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

Neither evil nor strong enough to detect.
