Oh, pretty.

Jeanne's curious about the language and the words, but she's hardly going to interrupt, so she just snuggles up and breathes a careful six times a minute so that it interferes with listening as little as possible and tries to enjoy it while it lasts.

The song is two minutes and forty-five seconds long.

Jeanne wants to cry when it ends. She knows Tarinda isn't going to leave her as soon as it does -- probably -- but it feels symbolic. A measure of time, and then silence.

Instead, she smiles up at Tarinda. "That's pretty. What language is it?"

"Punjabi."

"Do you speak Punjabi, or just know the song?"

"Just the song. I only speak English and Cantonese and Swahili without Page helping moment to moment."

"How come those?"

"My mom knew Swahili and my best friend growing up knew Cantonese."

"That's sweet." She's very sincere.

"Mm-hm. I keep meaning to get around to learning another but I haven't. When I have time I make sure I can still read Chinese, what with the thousands of characters thing."

"Do you have one in mind?"

"Hadn't quite decided! Maybe French."

Jeanne looks inordinately pleased about this. "It's my favorite of the languages I know."

"It sounds pretty and I could do Papillon Coterie setpieces."

"--that's a group who do setpieces, I suppose?"

"Yes. In French."

"I assumed it must be, yes. Are they better than the groups for other languages?"

"There isn't a major Swahili group, although I did do mini pieces with just me and one other person in Swahili a few times. There's two different groups that sometimes work in Cantonese and other dialects and they're good but neither of them has a Proster. I haven't looked into most of the others - I like some of the things Futura puts out but they're very exclusive, and not in a linguistic way, you basically have to know someone."

An item for her to-do list! She can befriend people in Futura, whatever that is exactly, and get Tarinda an invitation.

"I'm surprised there aren't more. If you can do that, who wouldn't?"

"Not everyone likes doing setpieces!"

"I suppose," she allows, in the tone of someone not entirely convinced this is a real phenomenon.

"They're great though, aren't they."

"They're amazing. You're amazing."

Smooch.

Sixty-megawatt gaze of adoration.
