"I could try to go restrain her and forcibly bring her back here, but first of all I don't think that'd help much, second of all it seems kinda like a thing she or you or some people would take issue with, third of all I'm not sure I'm confident in my ability to do that and keep her– somewhere. So, no, no brilliant ideas."

"Yeah, me neither. --I am pretty sure I want to be a vampire sooner or later and am tempted to make it sooner so I can help with wrangling, but it seems too likely I'd end up just being another person to be wrangled."

He shrugs. "Matt seems mostly fine, Grace seems like she's– on a mission, but I take it she was like that before she became a vampire? And it might take you a while to wake up anyway, so it'd be possibly good for future days but doesn't immediately solve anything anyway."

"Yeah, she is definitely always like this, maybe she's being a little bit more so but that also could just be, you know, vampires exist. I'm not sure if I'd describe Matt as 'mostly fine' but he doesn't seem murderous, at least."

Matt shrugs.

"Okay, yeah, he's a bit quiet, but, mainly meant the 'not really murderous' thing." Shrug. "Presumably you haven't had any– epilepsy? I don't know how to phrase that."

"'Seizures.' 'Seizures' is the word you're looking for. And yeah, I am running on pretty much pure caffeine at this point and no halos no nothing, I am pretty sure you actually fixed me."

"Well that's… tentatively promising, at least, if it can fix things like epilepsy?"

"Heck yeah. Especially since epilepsy is kinda neurological, too, I wonder if it could fix, like, schizophrenia."

He shrugs. "It might be worth trying to test it in a week's time, if you're not a vampire by that point, since it might only be temporary?"

"Yeah, fair. We know it lasts a couple of days at least, though, it's not literally 'until sunset' or 'until the blood's digested' or something."

He nods. "Which is useful, because even a temporary fix, we could just repeat it a few times over. But it'd be good to check anyway. … Do you know how the squirrel's doing? Still dead, or…?"

"Super dead. Pretty sure it only works on humans. Not that surprising."

"Yeah. Wonder if it works on, like, apes and stuff or not. Not that I really want to try that."

"I mean, at some point, when we've got things up and running, totally we should try great apes. But not right now, yeah."

Nod.

"… And for now, I should– probably go see if I can go talk to Grace again without arguing with her and see if I can help mitigate the damage she does?"

"I am not at all sure it's actually possible for you to talk with her without making things worse."

"Okay," he says. "Then I could just not."

"Ugh, I just don't know, I hate not doing anything and it is annoying to be, like, logistically useless."

"Yeah," he agrees. "It's annoying to have a single person who's trying to go about things their own particular way and possibly messing with things, too, but I guess I can't really comment there."

"Yeah, no."

Sigh. "Wanna watch a movie or something? Or are there still things we need to test about my vampirism, or…?"

Shrug. "We should probably be testing all sorts of things and making plans to deal with an influx of vampires whether it's Grace or us that makes them, but. There's no obvious things that need done in particular, and I'm super keyed up and also really really tired."

"You could sleep?" he suggests. "But it's like eleven or something, so you might wanna wait until a bit later." Shrug.

"Yeah, and also I am on a lot of caffeine, and also also I would feel super dumb if we go around hawking our miracle cure and then it turned out it just took longer than I'd expect for me to have a seizure."
